The manual for the Atlas Commander DCC system is unclear as to what
power supplies can be used to add additional power to the system.  It
clearly states that the 'Generator', which is used as the first power

I'm working on a gondola project -- the prototype was built ca. 1910, rebuilt
in the mid 1920s, and then upgraded with new ends and brakes about 1940.  My
layout is based on the mid 1960s, so the car has been around for a while.

Running two trains on the 4x8: the Pennsy FOM set on the O-42 loop and
McDonald's fast freight on the inner O-31 loop. Well the RealTrax popped a
joint and the McD boxcar and Archer-Daniels-Midland tank car doubled up and
almost sideswiped the crack passenger train on the outer loop ...

I have 4 sets of O scale (possibly O27) Lionel trains mostly from the
60s and 70s.  I would like to replace my track.  I'm confused and want
