Class 47 bogies.29 Dec 2003 21:10 GMT3
With all the recent discussions on the accuracy,  or not,  of some
recent diesel locomotive models,  I had a look at some details of the
Class 47.
One thing I can't work out is exactly how the compensation arms on the
Decoders29 Dec 2003 20:42 GMT13
Folks,
We've had some good discussions (amongst the noise) the past week on DCC
equipment.  I am very close to taking the plunge on Digitrax with radio
control.  The only question I have is decoders.  Specifically I know
Athearn - ridiculous car search29 Dec 2003 20:07 GMT5
Hey Folks,
Once you have cleared the tears from your eyes from laughing ;-), might
there be ANY chance of my locating a "May 1996, limited edition" boxcar
offering by Athearn : item #: 140-2306  ?  They simply packaged two 50',
Help with mother's friend's husbands book...29 Dec 2003 18:09 GMT5
Whew, that was a mouthful...
Okay, here's the situation:
I know NOTHING about these, other than that my mother's friend's husband recently died, leaving her a somewhat large collection of books on rails.  Some that I researched were pretty common, but others were listed on sites ...

Lionel 2023 locomotive servicing question (loose E-unit lever)29 Dec 2003 04:28 GMT5
Hi, all.  I have a 2023 locomotive that has some problems.
I fixed a number of loose wires, but it now just runs
a few feet and then stops.  I have to push the Direction
button on the ole KW transformer a couple times and it goes
Spectrum 2-6-6-229 Dec 2003 03:21 GMT4
These engines are beginning to show up on ebay, so I'm assuming that they are at some hobby shops as well.  Has anyone bought one yet?  How about some of you hobby shop owners... can you give us a "quick & dirty" summary on this new engine?
I've always been an NKP fan and I grew ...
Spectrum USRA 2-6-6-2 is shipping...29 Dec 2003 01:24 GMT5
According to the Bachmann website, the 2-6-6-2's have arrived and will be shipping "next week."  That was posted on 12/12 as I recall, so perhaps a few of them are starting to make their appearance to the public eye.  If so, has anyone seen any of them yet?
I'm surprised that if ...
Bachmann Members' Poll...29 Dec 2003 00:36 GMT7
Bachmann's Club magazine have asked for suggestions as to which special
editions of existing models to make available to members this year, one
steam and one diesel. I favour a late-weathered Jubilee and Green Class 40
with disc headcodes myself.
Merry Christmas29 Dec 2003 00:27 GMT21
Merry Christmas RMR. Thank you for yet another year of help with questions,
interesting ideas, even the occasional flame war and putting up with some of
my nonsense. Best wishes to you and your family in the coming year. Bruce
Hornby Virtual Railway28 Dec 2003 23:25 GMT3
Got myself a new copy of the Hornby Virtual Railway (Version 2) only to find
that it gives Illegal Operations on both my WinXP and Win98 machines.
Installed patch and fixed
Win98 machine, but I would like it to work on the XP computer.
Rivarossi/Walthers: question28 Dec 2003 22:58 GMT18
Can someone please clarify the Rivarossi status for me. In other words,
if I were to purchase a Rivarossi Cab Forward steam engine [item #:
635-5426], would this be a NEW and improved model from the original release?
Has anyone seen a NEW Cab Forward Rivarossi engine actually ...
Month of decision28 Dec 2003 21:50 GMT32
Several of us manufactures sit down after Christmas and consider if there is
another year left in the train business. It was quite different  years ago
when sales were improving every year. We would sit down and write a business
plan for the next year and then go for it. With ...
