027 shorting problem26 Dec 2003 00:51 GMT4
I have been trying to coax my **old** 027 guage locomotive back into
action.  [This is the one I had as a boy back in  the 50's and I was

Ebay prices25 Dec 2003 21:10 GMT125
I finally got irked enough to send a seller a message about an item he'd
overpriced.  Note that this was a "power" seller, not just some amateur

Malcom Furlow's Carbondale Central of the late 1980's.25 Dec 2003 17:58 GMT1
Has anyone ever seen or made a copy of Malcom Furlow's Carbondale Central.
It was in 2 or 3 issues of Model Railroader in 1988. The detail was superb.
It was not a big layout but it was very real looking, remindedme of where I live.

BLI - new engine question [qty in production?]25 Dec 2003 14:48 GMT3
Hey Folks,
I am curious. How many engines [approximately] does a company like BLI
bring out when they introduce a NEW engine to the market? How do they
determine this number? Does it differ from model to model?
P2K 2-8-4 DCC problems25 Dec 2003 14:46 GMT8
I am writing this for some newsgroup-challenged friends.
One bought a Berk at his local hobbyshop. Tested it in the shop on DC, ran
great. Took it home, put a decoder (Lenz LE1035) in it, fan like a crock -
as if it had a severe bind. Tried it back on DC - smooth as silk. Replaced
Mail order25 Dec 2003 10:54 GMT26
I noticed that Hattons has put its postage up to £4 per order now.
This is more than most others yet I have found parcels from Hattons can take
longer to arrive than others.

Any Idea What You are Getting for Christmas?25 Dec 2003 00:58 GMT4
I just got another package at the door.  My order for a couple more

until after Christmas(good work M B Klein).  I was sort of hoping the
new Atlas Swift reefer's would be out, but it appears they are delayed ...

Walther's Background Building (Shop Building No.1)24 Dec 2003 23:20 GMT1
If I'm correct, this building (part #933-3165) is based on their Car Shop
(part #933-3040); and it (the background building) could also be used as a
factory. If so, can the full size Car Shop it's based on be "converted" to a
factory? To be a little more specific: is there a way to ...
