HMRS 'Pressfix' transfers24 Dec 2003 21:49 GMT6
Does anyone here have any experience of these, please? Are they easy to use
and do they look good when applied? I'm thinking particularly of the lining
transfers.
Thanks,

restoring old Bowser24 Dec 2003 19:17 GMT6
I've just come into possession of an old Bowser Challenger.  All my previous
modeling experience has been with styrene and balsa models.  This monster is
made out of some kind of heavy, soft metal, maybe lead, and whoever worked
on it before filled what little empty space there was ...

I've seen a lot of references to this stuff - where can you buy it from and
how much does it cost?

Hornby Live Steam site - solutions to some problems24 Dec 2003 16:37 GMT1
Folks,
I've only had the live steam set for a few days but have already ran into
problems and found their solutions. This is a superb set but complicated and
I can imagine that others may run into similiar problems so I've created a
Vinegar cars24 Dec 2003 13:30 GMT5
I am looking for pictures of vinegar cars, particularly the SBIX road
(Standard brands), or samples of double tank vinegar cars from other firms.
If anyone can direct me to a web site or other source of pictures, I'd
appreciate it.
Opinions on the new 50, 55 and 44 please24 Dec 2003 09:37 GMT5
I am considering setting up a small review site for new modern image models.
The idea (following discussion in this group) is to provide a balanced but
critical appraisal of these models.
Now - and here's the problem - I'm no expert, either on the prototypes or
Adding additional power to DCC24 Dec 2003 07:29 GMT2
I'm currently transitioning to DCC and now have two spare MRC Tech 3
9500 power packs (30VA each).  I went with the Atlas system to get
started, and plan to use the 'Generator' from Atlas to supply the main
AC power to the system (2.5 amps at I think 16 or 18 volts).
Trix: HO Scale - quality and accuracy24 Dec 2003 06:34 GMT6
I am looking at the TRIX website and their many AMERICAN freight car
offerings.
1) Can some of you share an opinion on the quality of their cars when
compared to Intermountain or Kadee since they are comparably priced to
Through Truss Sway Bracing24 Dec 2003 03:09 GMT2
I'm building a small 2-rail O scale switching module following a design on
Carl Arendt's site ( www.carendt.com ) and scenicing it using ideas from
Nick Palette's HO module in the May '99 Model Railroader.  I've shortened a
Lionel #318 through truss running across the module to ...
N&W 2-8-8-2 - question24 Dec 2003 02:59 GMT19
Can someone please tell me what consists this engine would most likely
have pulled. Also, what other railroad(s) would this N&W engine have
potentially done busines with at an interchange?
Thanks So Much!
Removing superglue24 Dec 2003 02:26 GMT4
Any suggestions on removing 20 year old superglue from white metal? I've
unearthed a poorly assembled kit from my youth which I would like to
reassemble by soldering. Though most of the parts are already dismantled,
there's copious superglue which will have to come off before any ...
