MTH Strikes Again14 Feb 2004 12:06 GMT54
We were at a local hobby shop and it seems MTH has already had a negative
impact on the model railroading hobby. It seems they forced Broadway Ltd. to
disable their speed control from their most recent offering. I guess the rest
of the hobby will cave under the threat of lawsuits by ...
1948 locomotive exchanges14 Feb 2004 10:11 GMT10
Any one know of a web sight or book about the 1948 locomotive exchanges?
What loco went where and how they performed?
Thanks
Wiring a new layout14 Feb 2004 09:52 GMT2
I apologise in advance but I am a complete novice at this.
I am planning a reasonably straight forward layout - basically an 2 track L
shape with a loop at either end plus some sidings and 2 stations with 3
platforms.
Scenery14 Feb 2004 04:07 GMT4
Anyone know of a group that deals with UK scenery construction for OO model
rail?

What are all these brake parts?14 Feb 2004 03:05 GMT14
I'm admittedly new to adding AB or KC brakes to cars.  But I bought some
packs of Detail Associates AB brakes (#6227) and Tichy KC brakes (3005).
Both come with a zillion teeny parts on sprues.  Each sprue has a number
next to each part. But nowhere is there a key as to what's what.
Benchwork, Track, Wiring [test], then Scenery?14 Feb 2004 02:06 GMT10
Whether you build your layout module by module or all at once
[completing all of the benchwork, initially], and aside from the
obvious need to pre-plan rivers, lakes, and mountains as you assemble
the benchwork, I am most interested in the order in which most of you
Ballasting Instructions Online?14 Feb 2004 01:11 GMT4
Is there an online location that shows how to fix HO scale ballast?  A
newbie in our club is looking for help, and an online location would be
the quickest way to help him.
Thanks!
Mass-RI train shows?13 Feb 2004 23:21 GMT1

Mass or Rhode Island.

Watch out for attachments13 Feb 2004 21:27 GMT14
I guess the newest virus/worm attempt is directed at new group readers. The
"Britney Spears" subject contains an attachment of type .scr (script for
windows machines). Since I have a Mac, it won't affect me (and I don't open
such things anyway), but  watch out. My newsreader ...
China Trains13 Feb 2004 21:10 GMT65
why do you by trains made in China when you can get them made right here in USA!
No wonder all the jobs are leaving here for China.
Computer Interfacing13 Feb 2004 16:46 GMT3

this system before???
Thanks
Tony

I have listed a number of Train Minature cars on ebay.  These are from
a private collection dating back to the 1960s and 1970.

Broken Fastrack13 Feb 2004 16:19 GMT2
I'm experimenting with a small layout using
Lionel's new Fastrack for my son.
After snapping different sections together/apart 2 or 3 times,
several of the female tabs have "split open" on one side.
Making HO turnouts13 Feb 2004 14:55 GMT24
Most of the articles I see on making HO turnouts show the point rails connected
by a fixed pc board tie strip. I once attempted to make such a turnout but used
a thin piece of brass strip. The problem I noticed was that the two rails going
to the points from the frog didn't flex ...
