N scale switch automation12 Feb 2004 09:29 GMT2
I'm building my first layout after years of collecting N-scale cars and
engines. It's a small 4x4 layout. There are 7 switches on the layout I've
selected from a book I picked up. I'm using Atlas code 55 track and picked
up one Atlas under-table switch machine to experiment with. Is ...
Kato NW212 Feb 2004 04:52 GMT9
I have an new/unopened  Kato NW2  P/N: 37-116 (phase 2, painted for the SP
(Grey/red #1906)) that I originally bought to strip and repaint. After
listening to some of the pitfalls in stripping paint I thought I might ask
if anyone on the list here has a undecorated or Frisco painted ...

Has anyone here in Oz sighted the December issue of Model Rail yet? By my
reckoning it's a good 3 weeks late.

Custom Turnout Builders12 Feb 2004 03:40 GMT3
Can anyone suggest a few builders of custom hand laid turnouts that they
could recommend? If they also have websites a link to them would also be
appreciated.

DCC and magnetic couplers12 Feb 2004 02:33 GMT6
Okay, does anyone know of a place that sells locomotives that are DCC
equipped AND come with Micro Train magnetic couplers already
installed?  I just hate working on this stuff.
HO scale UP TRIX caboose12 Feb 2004 02:29 GMT2
Has anyone out there got the HO TRIX UP caboose(s)? I bought one at the local
hobby store and I find it quite correct to the prototype. The only thing closer
that you could get would be brass. But you save a good hundred bucks with TRIX
opposed to brass. I've gone over the model ...
Major Update!!!   Missouri Railroad Depots -  Now Look for Depots by Rail Line!11 Feb 2004 20:24 GMT2
You can now look for depots by Rail Line.  You can see how many
Frisco depots I have, for example.  I hope this helps your
searches for the depots you are interested in.
This was a major project a long time coming.  Many thanks go to
B Rail fleet survey books11 Feb 2004 17:39 GMT3
When a teenager, I bought the 1st 6 of the British Rail Fleet Survey books -
when I was a student, my mum chucked them out with all the other "magazines"
that I'd left at home.  Any idea where I'd get replacement copies from? And
the rest (if any) of the series.  Is there a modern ...
Corner Clamps11 Feb 2004 13:48 GMT2
In the August 2002 issue of Model Railroader there is an article on "cool
tools" including a corner clamp from Coffman Engineering. Does anyone know
where I can purchase such an item for an N-scale layout I've just started?
All of my Google searches come up empty.
Railway Modeller CDs11 Feb 2004 11:08 GMT6
Does anyone know if the annual CD's which Peco are now releasing are
provided in a useful format (i.e. PDF, Word or PostScript) or if they (as I
suspect) are somehow locked into a front-end program supplied on the disc,
making them totally useless. a.) on any other operating system, ...

I'm new at building my own rolling stock and have a rather basic
question.....In general, are freight cars painted a different color
underneath or inside?

MG tower in N Scale11 Feb 2004 00:35 GMT1
I am looking at having MG tower produced in N Scale. I have posted this
question to see what kind of demand there is and it looks like the project
is a go. MG tower or "Mid Grade" is located halfway between Altoona and
Gallitzin and was built by the PRR in WWII to handle the wartime ...
