Narrow Gauge South West26 Feb 2004 21:40 GMT2

Saturday?  One of the trade stands in the back hall (with the live steam
layout) had what appeared to be 4mm scale etched brass kit of the Baldwin
diesel similar to Moelwyn on the Festiniog Railway.  I couldn't get ...
Railway Webcam26 Feb 2004 20:53 GMT31
This off topic because the link is to a Japanese railway station
rather than a UK one, but I think if you have an interest in railways
you'll enjoy seeing it.

Choosing N-scale couplers?26 Feb 2004 18:09 GMT6
I'm building my first N-scale layout. I've bought some of the rolling
stock, including a Kato RS-2. Now I have to decide what couplers to use,
since they're not all the same kind on the stock I have so far. What
factors should I consider for choosing the coupler type?

Need paper26 Feb 2004 16:32 GMT13
Several years ago, Walthers offered building papers... these were sheets of
a heavy paper with bricks, stone, shingles and things like that printed on
them.  The paper was pretty heavy, but still flexible.  It was gray in color
and reminded me of the kind of material that cereal ...

I have, afer much travail, assembled and installed the walthers ho

However, lining up the tracks is tricky using just a dpdt switch.

0 gauge Hymek numerals.26 Feb 2004 06:41 GMT2
Can any member point to where I could obtain raised numerals and the
letter D for an 0 gauge Hymek please? Full size numerals are just over
7" high so 0 gauge will be about 4mm.

Has anybody out there got a copy of the Kadee spiker parts diagram /

parts are still available from Kadee( must get that code 70 conversion ...

Helix25 Feb 2004 22:41 GMT10
She who must be obeyed has decreed that the layout extension "must be
high enough that I can easily duck underneath it".
This is a not unreasonable request, when you consider that quite often
it is I who have to duck under the layout for various purposes

Peco Code 75 and Newer Models25 Feb 2004 17:06 GMT7
Planning for my new layout has rapidly progressed - from buying the
baseboards early last week to having them fully screwed down and covered
with 9" cork for tracklaying by yesterday teatime. Now I come to choosing
track - Code 100 or 75?
