Does customer have to lube new Bachmann locos at purchase?03 Mar 2004 17:08 GMT7
In a review of the Bachmann Spectrum Decapod in MRC the author
describes removing the boiler and lubing the innards like it was the
first time.  Shouldn't Bachmann be lubing their products before they
leave the factory?
Question about UK steam engines03 Mar 2004 12:44 GMT6
Did any, some, most, all GB steam use left hand lead for the driver
quartering?
In the United States most RR used right hand lead, but the Pennsylvania
Railroad (PRR) used left hand lead.  I'm just wondering if any other RRs
KATO N SCALE GP38\38-2 QUESTION03 Mar 2004 09:56 GMT1
Hi hope someone can answer this question for me. I have the chance to pick
one of these GP38-2's up. I just purchased a KATO N scale SD40-2 & removed
the yellow/white LED's, and replaced them with the Miniatronics brand bright
white LED's. Can I to this on the gp38-2. Im hoping the ...

Restaurants that use Trains?03 Mar 2004 02:42 GMT30
Hi guys. My name is Adrian and I've been lurking in the group for quite a
while, reading the posts and picking up bits and pieces of info. I guess
its time to de-lurck!
I've a quick question that a google search didn't turn up:
Cannon Parts03 Mar 2004 02:11 GMT4
Anybody have a place to order Cannon parts from? My local hobby shop
doesn't offer any discounts and after all the business I've done I'm looking
for a place that does. I have a lot of parts to order as I'm doing 3 locos.
Thanks to all.          Paul
A fix for poor light output in Spectrum Consolidation02 Mar 2004 23:01 GMT11
I've just posted a neat little fix for the poor light output of the headlamp
in a Bachmann Spectrum Consolidation, but this would also work for just
about any of their low-mounted headlamp equipped steamers. Check for this
article under "Engineering".
How to file small plastic parts?02 Mar 2004 22:26 GMT5
I'm sure this has been answered before, but how do you file the inside
of the pre-cast draft gear box for the coupling on Bachman freight
cars to fit a Kadee #5 coupler?  Specifically, what tool would you
use? Where to buy it?  Local hardware shop?  I don't want to file off
DCC Availability?02 Mar 2004 16:55 GMT14
I wanted to buy a Digitrax setup, but my local hobby shop was
out of anything except the most expensive.  They said that the
lower level Zephyr had been on back-order for two months.  Then,
I checked Walthers and saw that they had only a few Digitrax

Anyone have any ideas how to hide them? Maybe to build something around
them.

Any North American residents on this list planning on going to the Great
British Trainshow in Canada in April, I am hoping to, maybe we could meet
for a pint.

MR Product Reviews01 Mar 2004 22:44 GMT11
I've heard complaints about how the magazines never give a bad review.
Looks like MR is trying to reverse that trend.  Looking at the beautiful
model shown in the new issue (Vol 71, No 4), the reviewer complains that the
separately applied grab irons "seemed a little heavy".  A ...
