| Does customer have to lube new Bachmann locos at purchase? | 03 Mar 2004 17:08 GMT | 7 |
In a review of the Bachmann Spectrum Decapod in MRC the author describes removing the boiler and lubing the innards like it was the first time. Shouldn't Bachmann be lubing their products before they leave the factory?

| Question about UK steam engines | 03 Mar 2004 12:44 GMT | 6 |
Did any, some, most, all GB steam use left hand lead for the driver quartering? In the United States most RR used right hand lead, but the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) used left hand lead. I'm just wondering if any other RRs

| A fix for poor light output in Spectrum Consolidation | 02 Mar 2004 23:01 GMT | 11 |
I've just posted a neat little fix for the poor light output of the headlamp in a Bachmann Spectrum Consolidation, but this would also work for just about any of their low-mounted headlamp equipped steamers. Check for this article under "Engineering".

I'm sure this has been answered before, but how do you file the inside of the pre-cast draft gear box for the coupling on Bachman freight cars to fit a Kadee #5 coupler? Specifically, what tool would you use? Where to buy it? Local hardware shop? I don't want to file off

| MR Product Reviews | 01 Mar 2004 22:44 GMT | 11 |
I've heard complaints about how the magazines never give a bad review. Looks like MR is trying to reverse that trend. Looking at the beautiful model shown in the new issue (Vol 71, No 4), the reviewer complains that the separately applied grab irons "seemed a little heavy". A ...
