Searching for older layout book07 Apr 2004 14:18 GMT2
Some years ago, before I had the time and/or money to build my layout I
purchased several layout books searching for ideas. Several moves between
cities and countries these books where relucantly disgarded and I am now
looking for help to find the book again.
Planning large layout07 Apr 2004 13:22 GMT2
I am looking for reference books on building a large 10 X 16 N scale layout
using code 55 atlas track. Would like to incorporate an intermodal yard.
Planning out the scenery on a layout is my biggest shortfall.
I have built a 3 X 7 layout from the atlas level 2 track plan book N17, ...

How many ribs does the old Revell/Con-Cor 50' gondola (now out of
production?) have on each side?
Module Standards for HO scale, re: T-nuts07 Apr 2004 06:48 GMT60
I was looking for NMRA Standards for HO scale modules and found several sites with
the information.
One thing bothers me though, and that is the method of adjusting the height of the
tables.  The drawings called out 1/4" or 5/16" hex-cap screws (bolts) and T-nuts.

Anyone know what the stock number is for the New Haven drop-center
flat with the six-wheel trucks???  (NH 17082 reporting marks)
A buddy of mine showed me one...yet I can't find it listed in any M-T
listings!  My hobby shop can't find a listing for it.
Help with scenery: Hydrocal07 Apr 2004 01:29 GMT15
After using plaster bandage for my hard-shell, I decided that it was a
little flimsy so I wanted to brush on a coat of Hydrocal to strengthen it
and add texture.  I mixed up a batch of Woodland Scenics "Lightweight
Hydrocal", wet down an area and attempted to brush the plaster on.  ...
Class 73 JA Green Livery - bottom stripe?06 Apr 2004 23:17 GMT1
Could anyone tell me the name of the colour in this lower bodyside stripe on
the very first class 73's? It looks a kind of pastel green in some photos,
yellow green as on Deltics in some, and white on the preserved example!
What colour is it meant to be? And does anyone produce it ...
G Gauge Newbie Part 206 Apr 2004 21:58 GMT3
One of the locomotives in my "deal you can't refuse" initiation into G gauge
is a Bachmann 4-6-0.  It would not run and just shuddered and made a noise
like a coffee grinder.  I opened it up and found a motor smaller than that
in some HO diesels driving through a plastic crown gear ...
Class 2006 Apr 2004 15:42 GMT1
Just had a phone call from The Signal Box in Rochester to say my Bachmann
Class 20 (blue - headcode box) is in the post.
Peco CD annual06 Apr 2004 11:00 GMT1
Has anyone purchased the new CD annual from Peco?
Their first cover disk was good, the second I thought was not quite so
good and had a lot more advertising on it.
I enjoy the movies on the CDs, they are the only reason I would
EX: Trainwest06 Apr 2004 09:48 GMT1
I know I posted about the show a few weeks ago but I forgot to mention
that if anyone's mildly curious there are a few pictures from last
year on the web site to give those who've never been some idea of what
it's like.
detail painting06 Apr 2004 02:56 GMT7

I've a few questions about detail painting I'm hoping to get help with.
First, how do I do a wash on landscaping?  What would I use & how would I
mix it?
Open autoracks and cargo therefore06 Apr 2004 01:21 GMT5
I have the Accurail triple autorack kit.  The open sided job used in
the early days before vandalism forced adoption of the closed cars used
today.  Naturally such a car needs a load.  I found a closeout on HO
scale pickup trucks $0.66 each.  They are a little shabby, but a good
Save the Citrus Empire Model Railroad Club06 Apr 2004 00:50 GMT2
The Citrus Empire Model Railroad Club is being forced out of the Los
