| Depot logo transfers? | 05 Apr 2004 22:59 GMT | 2 |
Could anyone point me in the direction of specific transfer sheets for the depot 'mascot' logos which were quite common in the 80's? I'm specifically after the Eastfields 'scottie dog' for a cl.27, but would also be interested to find the highland stag, and the Stratford 'cockney ...

| 4mm Engine nameplates | 05 Apr 2004 14:23 GMT | 5 |
A month or two ago I found (and have now lost) a site where the chap (who's name I can't remember!) produced 4mm scale name plates for all sorts of engines. He had a big stock of "Big 4", he offered a bespoke service "If I haven't

| Reference Books For Modeling a Rail/Port Scence | 05 Apr 2004 13:57 GMT | 6 |
I'm in the process of designing a new layout, and I'm interested in modeling a sea port, roughly in the 70-80s time frame. I haven't decided which commodities it will ship, but I've narrowed it down to containers, coal and grain/bulk items.

| Canberra exhibition photos | 05 Apr 2004 11:00 GMT | 2 |
I've uploaded some photos I took on Saturday at the Canberra model railway exhibition. I'm still getting the hang of the new digital camera so some of them aren't the best. http://dbromage.railpage.org.au/canberra2004

| LGB Newbie | 04 Apr 2004 22:42 GMT | 4 |
After almost 60 years in tinplate, HO, HOn3 and 2-rail O and On30, a friend made an offer I couldn't refuse, and I am now also into LGB. I eventually want to put a loop into a flower bed. My initial question is about cleaning the rails. My old HO experience was that one needed to ...

I'm trying to get Miniatronics Point to Point Automatic Reversing Unit to work. The analog engine does run back and forth, but only if I keep manually changing directions. (It's supposed to automatically cause the engine to reverse directions when it goes over a light sensor ...

| O scale sources? | 04 Apr 2004 16:19 GMT | 5 |
I have finally retired and now can get down to really laying track. I have been out of the active hobby for years, although I still took the mags, so it will probably take a while to see what has changed. I have about a ton of O scale stuff that I boxed up 20 years ago when I

| Re: O scale sources? | 04 Apr 2004 08:30 GMT | 1 |
One good place for O scale info is the O scale Yahoo group "Otrains". Also there are two dedicated O scale mags. One is "48/ft. O Scale News" and the other one is "O Scale Trains". Loads of good info and lots of ads on where to buy O scale stuff. O scale is making a comeback ...

Has anyone tried to remove the factory lettering from Proto Heritage Steam Locomotives, particularly the 0-6-0? If so, how did it turn out? Can you get by without repainting? Thanks in advance for your help,

| silver SP cars | 04 Apr 2004 03:34 GMT | 10 |
I have noticed some N scale cars with SP markings painted a silver color. Is this true and prototypical or no? I just don't ever remember seeing any SP cars including cabooses in that color. Needless to say I have

| Metcalfe Platform | 03 Apr 2004 18:48 GMT | 7 |
What's the group's opinion on Metcalfe models card platform kits? Thinking of using some, mostly straight but one section will need to curve. Anyone got any experience of building these? How easy is it, how good/realistic do they look.
