Re Baseboards20 Apr 2004 00:31 GMT13
Thanks for all replies regarding baseboards, have decided to go with 6mm Ply
with cork tiles for surface to lay track on, can anyone confirm that to use
track pins (peco ?) I just need to predrill holes using mini drill (size ?)
then pin, surely the pins will bend unless the ply is ...
Heljan structures20 Apr 2004 00:16 GMT5
Is anyone familiar with the quality of Heljan kits?  My LHS has a few gathering
dust for years on its shelves.  I figured they don't sell well because they're
too European-looking for US layouts.  There is one that I think I can use, but
before I buy it, I thought I'd check to see ...

Trainwest19 Apr 2004 15:37 GMT7
With next week off work ( \o/, say the dancing robots...), I'm tempted to go
to Trainwest tomorrow. It is, however, a 4-hour train trip from Sussex.
Just wondered if anyone went today and can offer any thoughts other than the
advertising blurb?
Traffic Lights For Cars19 Apr 2004 15:07 GMT15
Does anyone know where I can get some information on building traffic
lights for cars in N-scale?  I have seen Kalmbach's book on a two light
system, I just don't know what country they're modeling.  Aren't traffic
lights supposed to be a three light system?

Mounting LEDs in Control Panels?19 Apr 2004 14:16 GMT5
Any suggestions for mounting 3 mm LEDs effectively and simply in control
panels? I've been thinking of just using brass or aluminum tubing with the
proper ID that the LED could fit into (use a bit of epoxy at the 'base' of
the tubing to hold the LED permanently in place.
New Rivarossi Berkshire--problems & comments19 Apr 2004 13:58 GMT7
I just bought a new Riv Berk 5400 series engine.  I'm very happy with
the detail even though most of it is molded.  It is a smooth runner
but my first gripe is with the shimmy--wobble--sway--call it what you
like.  I googled the symptoms and someone said the traction tires
tortoise switch machine info needed19 Apr 2004 09:31 GMT8
I am getting ready to build my N-scale around-the-room shelf 'empire' and
need some help. I plan to use the tortoise slow motion switch machines for
all turn-outs that will not be hand-thrown. At this point, it looks like the
completed project will use 30 - 35 of the Tortoise switch ...
Conversion of scale templates19 Apr 2004 05:52 GMT2
I was thinking of scratchbuilding some O Scale Buildings from some HO scale
templates that I have. I used to have the ratios I needed to accurately blow
them up on a copier.
Now I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated.

And I'm sticking with my call – the plan to make a stink about the licensing

Does anyone know of any of the big, room-sized, multi-station layout
as often seen in Model Railroader but with a UK theme?
