Foam Removal03 Jun 2004 15:06 GMT2
Can anyone suggest a means of removing decayed foam packing which has
adhered to a model train due to sitting too long in the original
packing?  This preferably would not involve removal of original paint
much less distortion of underlying surface (metal or plastic.
[HO] Lumber doors03 Jun 2004 09:22 GMT10
Does anyone make a detail part for lumber doors, as used on the ends of some
steam-era boxcars?
Different Scale Dimensions & Use03 Jun 2004 08:18 GMT10
So I've been pondering the idea of writing a simple include file for Pov-Ray (www.povray.org for those who are curious) which will allow one to more easily build model train scenes. It serves many purposes, one is that I want to get back into Pov-Ray more, another is the ...
In the Beginning03 Jun 2004 02:58 GMT2
I've been a regular lurker for about 6 months now, and this is my first
post.  I'm about to start on a small/med layout in my basement(n-scale).  I
just wanted to thank everyone for all the good ideas that are posted here.
They are appreciated.  I started a photo album for pics ...
Blue Pullman03 Jun 2004 00:19 GMT7
Can anyone tell me if I'm dreaming?
I'm sure that at the Warley show, perhaps a couple of years ago, I saw a
forthcoming model of a Blue Pullman in 4mm scale.  I think Fox Transfers may
have had something to do with it, but I'm not sure why!  I know it wasn't
Mantua Shifter Driver Replacement03 Jun 2004 00:04 GMT6
I have a very only Mantua 0-4-0 which needs the read driver replaced. The
one I have is no longer insulated on one side. Model Power does not have
this part. It is part number 25150. When I look other places they list the
wheel sets in inches. Is this a 50" wheel?
Burrinjuck Krauss02 Jun 2004 15:30 GMT4
Just wondering if anyone has any information regarding the liveries of the
Krauss used at Burrinjuck?
Looking through Newland's book, it is quite obvious that colored livery is a
real possibility. One shot shows Archie distinctively lighter than a sister

Well Werris,
You have frequently complained about lack of traffic on this group but was
it necessary to go so far just to generate a few extra postings!!!!!

Best price for Circuitron Swith machines?02 Jun 2004 03:55 GMT3
Any recommendations for vendors providing the best prices on
Circuitron switch machines? I see their prices vary enormously
in MR. Also, isn't there also a "clip-on" accessory for attaching
wires to the machine without soldering? If so, who provides that?
Railfest 2004 - pictures from Sunday now on line01 Jun 2004 21:47 GMT14
What an amazing day it has been with a huge display of steam, diesel and
electric spanning two centuries. My heartiest congratulations to all who
have contributed to this event.
Highlights were 3440 "City of Truro" working all day on the demonstration
Lionel "O" Gauge Trains To Sell01 Jun 2004 13:49 GMT3
I have some old Lionel "O" gauge trains I would like to sell, but I have no
idea what they are worth today.  In the mid 80's, I several collectors
appraise what I have and the average value then was around $1400 USD.  I
would like to sell the collection as I no longer have an ...
Rechargable batteries for coach lighting01 Jun 2004 12:43 GMT6
The current issue of AMRM has an article about fitting batteries to power
tail lights on brake vans, rail cars etc. but does not go into using
rechargable batteries charged from the track power.
Has anyone done this? I can't imagine it would be too hard but I wonder how

The Eureka Models website is up.

Includes some more info on the Garratt, a printable order form and a
hint regarding Eureka Models' second release ;-)
Athearn light Pacific01 Jun 2004 07:06 GMT7
Anybody know if NWSL does gears for the Athearn light Pacific.  I just got one.
Tried it Saturday and the gear apparently broke.  Athearn has no idea when
they may get parts.  They suggest NWSL.  Anybody know?
