I've been doing a fair amount of research here lately on the design of my next home layout, but a tangent question that came to mind was the why for a narrow gauge? I can't think of any good reasons off the top of my head, so I will put it

Well, I took out the old magnifying goggles and took a good look at Kato's Golden White LEDs. Sure enough, one side has a flattened spot on the base! I compared it to some Sunny Whites and found the same flat spot on the "-" lead! Thanks everyone for helping me to come up with this ...

I think I have a pretty good mixture of Depots including a couple of different people this time. . They include a painting of Springfields Frisco Depot painted in 1976 that may not be in circulation much.

Well I bought a athearn model last week and I put it together and got out my airbrush to give it a quick weathering job this weekend, but ran into some problems. I use the floquil water based paint. I haven't had my paint out for a couple of month and I made sure to mix it up ...

Been reading the various dcc freds with some interest without going down the various merits and demerits path again could anyone enlighten moi - a total no nothing re dcc whether I understand the following correctly and set me right on a few questions?

I was using the Walthers chain link fence kit to fence in a small propane dealership on my layout. I ended up 9 posts short of enclosing the area. I still have the rails and mesh, I'm just short posts. Walthers is out and I haven't been able to fins another kit anywhere.
