Peco Rail guage31 Aug 2004 21:24 GMT20
I finished laying the track after many months and have been testing it for a
few weeks before doing the scenics. I used the Peco railguage for
streamline, not the setrack side.
There is a couple of tightish turns on a double track section (3rd and 4th
Repainting Lima HST car31 Aug 2004 19:23 GMT1
Just tried repainting an old Lima HST power car using yellow spray paint and it
isn't sticking to the surface very well.
I sanded it down and made sure it wasn't greasy and only put a thin spray of
paint on.  I've already painted 3 Hornby coaches in this way and not had any

Please recommend a brand of clamp to use with g-scale trains.
Thanks in advance.

I am looking to purchase an Intermountain [HO scale] car:

It is very difficult to locate: impossible for me so far. If anyone
happens to see one at their local hobby shop, please e-mail me. I'd

Kadee Couplers/Curve Radius Question31 Aug 2004 04:28 GMT118
I'm sure this gets asked regularly, so one more time won't hurt....
am considering converting much of my loco fleet (Aussie RTR stuff from
Powerline, Lima etc) to Kadee couplers (not because I have a layout at
present, but because they look much better on display in the cabinet!),
Painting Urethane31 Aug 2004 00:10 GMT3
Hi gang,
I've recently purchased a structure from Supply Line Models that is made of
urethane.  I've never worked with urethane before - do I prepare, sand, and
paint it like any other polystyrene building, or is there anything special I
Flex Coupling for old PFM Vulcan Duplex 30 Aug 2004 22:48 GMT25
Finally satisfied my whim for the PFM Vulcan Duplex at a train show last
weekend.  As I suspected, it does not run worth a darn.  One of the problems
is the piece of rubber tube used to couple the motor shaft to the gear
tower; the tube has dried out and is too loose on the shafts, ...
Micro trains ( couplings) for N gauge30 Aug 2004 21:06 GMT8
Who in the UK will supply Micro Trains.
I understand that they use a coupling similar to Kadee but for n gauge I
would like to fit them to Farish stock
Has anyone used these couplings and how was the outcome

Dapol Pendolino30 Aug 2004 17:13 GMT38
Is the Dapol Pendolino better at staying on the rails than the Bachmann Super
Voyager?
Where's the cheapest place to buy one? (cheapest I've seen so far is £110)

publicly viewed club layout protection30 Aug 2004 15:20 GMT10
I'd like to get some opinions on what other model railroad clubs
have done to safely display their layout unattended to the public.
What sort of materials have you used, and how well did they work? Was
it completely closed off (floor to ceiling) or just a high clear

Harry Herz30 Aug 2004 12:56 GMT2
Bob Knight had a note in the Micro-Trains Yahoo group that Harry had died suddenly.
What a shock and a loss.  I'd just talked to him a couple of days ago and had no sense
that anything was wrong.
Bob has set up the following at the TexNrails site:
looking for HO details30 Aug 2004 05:09 GMT2
I am looking where to get some more detail parts such as; Electrical service
mast for buildings. They need to be hollow so wires (thread) could be run
into them from a pole mounted transformer. Some large for industries and
small ones for residential use. Sometimes their mounted on ...
