Having looked at DCC it is rather expensive for a small begginer's layout like mine. Zero One can be got quite cheap now. Anyone had experience with this and can tell me a little bit about it including its down side?

A project on my workbench will require a adhesive for gluing a white metal assembly to a cast plaster base. Has someone had success in making this type of joint. The kit is a ancient Alexander pillar crane, perhaps it would be easier to make a new base of metal and then attempt

The instructions on Testors #1290 Chrome spray enamel says "Do not overspray with clear coatings," and "not recommended as base coat for transparent colors." Does anyone know the reasons for the warning?
