If people in the US would stop demanding mor money maybe they would not
be moving  things over seas.                            Paul McCaann

My 1st DPM structure03 Sep 2004 19:18 GMT12
I just finished my first HO scale DPM structure - City Cab Co.
(http://www.dpmkits.com/images/112b.jpg).  I think I did pretty well.  I
painted and weathered the building.  The windows are a bit difficult because
they are molded on.  Hopefully, I am on my way to some craftsman kits. ...
resistance soldering units03 Sep 2004 19:16 GMT2
Anyone care to comment on the pros and cons of PBL vs. American Beauty
resistance soldering units?
Some years ago I used the Triton unit and it seemed to always be very hot to
use.  Are all resistance soldering units like that?

Using Cyanopoxy03 Sep 2004 07:04 GMT21
A while back I bought a starter kit of cyanopoxy. I did their little
demo exercise with the two pices of rubber and was duly amazed. I'd
like to use it for more projects, but I have a question: how do you
apply the Activator? The Integrator is easy enough - I apply that like
State of couplers? (HO)03 Sep 2004 04:21 GMT5
What is the state of HO couplers? When I left the hobby some years ago
(5+, maybe closer to 10), the only couplers widely used by modellers were
Kadees. Most kits and rollingstock came without couplers or with horn-hook
couplers ... remember those? I seem to recall someone announced ...
Dalpol 14xx - Anyone seen it?03 Sep 2004 00:30 GMT18
Dalpol are apparently offering a 14xx 0-4-2 tank in N, and it is a lot
less expensive than just about anythingelse on the market.
Im tempted - Has anyone seen this thing in action?  Does it work?

I rather like this model:

so I'm trying to determine more information. For which period is this
Numerical water slide transfers02 Sep 2004 09:29 GMT7
I'm coming to the end of a bit of a marathon kit bashing/customising session
and to help finish off I need a fair amount of "numbers" (4mm scale), don't
need any logos/coats of arms etc, all I'm after is straightforward numbers
in black and white. Had thought of using letraset but ...
Operating "Named Trains" 02 Sep 2004 04:47 GMT9
I was curious how all of you handle "named freight trains" when
operating your layout. Or, perhaps, how were they handled in the real
world.
For example, whether the actual train existed or I have invented it, I
