I bought one of these a while ago, and it runs well except over Hornby
points.  Anyone noticed a similar problem, can you offer any advice or a
remedy?

is patchy despite two or three coats of enamel. I wonder if primer would
make a difference?

We have two model shops in Camborne here in Cornwall
It would seem unless it is Peco it isn't made. The other makes you have
mentioned how do I find them as again the model shop say they must be one

I am a Brit in Atlanta who is modeling a Southern British Railway. I have
purchased many building kits from the UK but I am having a hard time finding
the right type of glue to assemble them. The brand they recommend is not
available here, I have tried superglue but it leaves ...

I'm reading this book on N scale modeling by Robert Schleicher,
and he says that "N scale is the most difficult of the popular
scales to model because it requires much more precision".
I'm not doubting the author's opinion, but can anyone offer

How much yellow or orange has to be on the front/rear of the loco; according
to the safety regulations so the loco can be seen at level crossings etc etc
Does the whole front have to be yellow or orange?  Is there any difference
in the rules for yellow and orange?

In my case it would be a 170 rather than a 158 but the principle is the same.
Not quite the "simple job" certain posters would have us believe is it?
