Manchester06 Oct 2004 14:05 GMT6
I went to the 67th Manchester Model Railway Society Exhibition last night
next to Victoria Station in Manchester, UK.  This was my first adult visit
to such a show, I found the show very entertaining and had a great time.  I
have no association with the MMRS but recommend a visit ...
where is rathburne and spanky?06 Oct 2004 09:43 GMT279
Noticed the political talk was starting up again and was curious why
rathburne or the spankmeister were not chiming in. Thought they might
want to join all the other brain stems here voicing the mindless,
off-topic political nonsense.
A question about Athearn kits - end numbering06 Oct 2004 07:39 GMT2
I know this is a sensitive subject right now, but I have to ask anyway.
Last night my son Philippe and I assembled the last of several boxcar kits
he received for Christmas.  We had to wait until I found my box of (removed
and spare) hook-horn couplers since this last kit had only ...

I am just starting to think about modelling in 009.
However there seems to be very few shops (on-line anyway) that sell stuff
here in the UK.
I am looking for two locos and some coach and wagon stock plus track.
Need help with modification decision (Spectrum Ten Wheeler)06 Oct 2004 01:21 GMT3
Hi guys. I usually plunge right in to a mod job on my locos and never
look back. But this one has me on the Trepidation & Hesitation RR main
line.
It concerns my Bachmann Spectrum Ten Wheeler.  I love its operation

Pullmans and Kadees again!!!!!!!!!!05 Oct 2004 21:50 GMT3
I know this has been done to death but can someone help, As I have some
sharp curves in the fiddle yard, I need to convert the bogie rather than the
buffer beam area.
I've tired drilling out #20's and attaching them where the old couplers
RMC Magazine Beware05 Oct 2004 21:14 GMT8
Back a few month ago I went online to subscribe to Railroad Model Craftsman
Magazine. Entering their website you go to the typical page where you enter
your information. Site states this is a secure page (lock appears in
browser) expiration your credit card info for payment as you ...
Train ferries - still.05 Oct 2004 20:18 GMT24
I've been looking for information on the early UK - Europe
train ferries.
The reference I've found mentions the (5x) WWI ferries lying
idle until 1923 when they were sold to the LNER for a Harwich
3D home design software05 Oct 2004 16:39 GMT6
I may have asked this already; I remember posing the question to a friend,
but I'm not sure if I posted here.  Besides, my NG software is a bit on the
fritz, and I'm not getting all of the messages.  If it's a repeat, I'm
sorry... With that semi apology, here's the question...
This happen to anyone else?05 Oct 2004 13:54 GMT6
I was well on the way to building a fairly nice layout in my basement.
Unfortunately, I found that if I went a few days without running the
trains the locos wouldn't run, or would run sluggishly or jerkily.
They would finally start to run normally after about 20 minutes of
ElectricNose05 Oct 2004 11:43 GMT58
Just out of curiosity, when ElectricNose reviews UK outline models on
his website, does anyone know whether he uses scale drawings in order
to perform comparisons with the prototype ?

How to create realistic looking grass, concrete, and gravel???05 Oct 2004 08:07 GMT4
I am building a diorama of a 1/18-scale old time gas station.  I will
display some of my die-cast 1/18-scale cars in this diorama.  I was
able to purchase some doll house parts to build a realistic looking
old time gas station, but I don't know what to use to make realistic
