| Track Cleaning Problem | 03 Oct 2004 00:54 GMT | 15 |
I have an HO layout in which my train performed flawlessly before adding ballast. Now it tends to operate sluggishly and slows down and picks up speed then slows down, etc at the same spots on the track. The culprit is obviously dirty track perhaps from glue applied during ...

| BLI and MTH K-4 | 02 Oct 2004 18:59 GMT | 4 |
In looking at the recent publications, I see that both Broadway Limited and MTH are preparing to release verions of the PRR K-4. I have purchased a T-1 from BLI and I am happy with it. This is speculative as neither company has released its model, but if you were

I just read a book called, "Playing with Trains: A Passion Beyond Scale," by Sam Posey. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it to all model railroaders, new and old. Here is a review that pretty much summarizes my feelings about the book:

| DCC? should I or not? | 01 Oct 2004 21:21 GMT | 19 |
Having just started a new layout and coincidentally a much better paid job I'm undecided what system to go for. I have quite a bit of old DC stuff but it needs replacing in any case. Is there a simple DCC system anyone can recommend? At the most I will have 3 locos on the layout ...
