| Starting voltage on BLI Class A | 30 Oct 2004 01:52 GMT | 3 |
The default starting voltage on my BLI Class A is set by default at 8.5 volts. On my throttle (an old Troller), 8.5 volts is probably about 80% throttle. So I only have about 20% of the throttle knob's movement to control the entire speed range of the engine.

| Tank cars on the BN, 1970-1980ish | 29 Oct 2004 22:24 GMT | 4 |
Where can I get information about what tank cars could be seen on the BN between 1970 and the early 80's? All this GATX UTLX etc stuff is confusing me, plus many of the models I can find don't have dates listed.

| Don't Feed, vex, annoy, or pester the trolls | 29 Oct 2004 22:06 GMT | 3 |
This newsgroup has been infested with a few trolls recently. But they are just pests and will likely tire of their adventure sooner rather than later if we don't answer them. It appears that they are forging IDs so tracing them back to actual ISPs is difficult, and the ISPs ...

| Thornaby Kingfisher transfers | 29 Oct 2004 18:48 GMT | 2 |
I've been asked to renumber and rename a Lime 47 for someone. The names are no problem but the loco also has a blue/orange kingfisher symbol on both sides. Does anyone produce a transfer for this or is it a computer job on blank transfer paper?

| DecoderPro software and... KAM Industries?!? | 29 Oct 2004 02:55 GMT | 16 |
Apologies in advance for the multiple postings, but this is potentially a serious issue. Many of you have probably seen the review in the November 2004 Model Railroader magazine of the "DecoderPro" software, part of a suite of

| What Really Happened To Rivarossi? | 28 Oct 2004 19:52 GMT | 12 |
I remember that Rivarossi was originally owned & operated in Italy starting at the conclusion of WW2. Count Rivarossi or something suposedly invested the family treasure. I thought it was doing pretty well. That appeared to be the case until sometime in the late 90's.

| Mabry Mill in HO Xcale? | 28 Oct 2004 18:15 GMT | 1 |
For my model railroad, I'd like to find a model kit of a water driven mill. If you are familiar with Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I'd like something that looks like that. Most of the kits that I've seen tend to look VERY European; not quite the prototype for my very ...

| Cats are the biggest threat to model railroads ! ! ! | 28 Oct 2004 10:03 GMT | 16 |
They can do huge damage when they see moving trains and they will remove the little model trees, the model people and the model cars, too and destroy the houses. Cats will act like Godzilla in Tokyo when they have access to your

| A minor MR mystery. | 28 Oct 2004 03:44 GMT | 18 |
I've long taken pleasure in collecting old hobby magazines. I would be very grateful for any information concerning the following. I possess standard copies for March, April and May, 1940 of The Model Railroader which have been bound together under a new outer cover. In the upper

A follow-up to my query about (perceived) quality of freight cars: I'd like your opinion on HO locomotives. Please rate the following in terms of looks (scale accuracy, paint job), operation (weight, motors, flywheels), value for money, etc.
