Are the Kato and ConCor Union Pacific passenger cars the same colors? I am wondering about mixing the two in the same train. I understand that the Kato cars are UP prototype and the ConCor aren't, but are they pretty much equal in quality of detail and construction?

I am in the middle of restoring a Lionel 6555 Tank Car, and after cleaning the trucks I started to wonder if Lionel painted these trucks or not. After cleaning they actually looked good that way, so I started to second guess myself. Are these trucks painted or not?

In the DCC set with 2 locos (thomas and percy... for want of a better description) how easy would it be to remove the dcc decoders and put them into something decent (with sockets)? Are the decoders plugging into a socket on the loco?
