CADrail vs 3rdPlanit19 Dec 2004 17:17 GMT6
I am considering the purchase of software to design model railroads. I think
I've narrowed it down to the two mentioned above. Can anyone offer likes and/or
dislikes about them?
I am presently using RR Track, which I like, but it does not allow operation of
Weathered 37/0 - neat touch...19 Dec 2004 15:15 GMT3
Just received Bachmann's new weathered 37/0. The optional snow ploughs have
also been weathered which is a nice touch as otherwise they would stick out
like a sore thumb when fitted. Don't know if this has ever been done before?
The "DCC Ready" logo on Bachmann's recent boxes has ...
Any sites for Brick paper etc.?19 Dec 2004 14:46 GMT3
just wondering if finally in the world of model rail there are sites with
true to scale downloads of walls, etc. ready for gluing onto card and making
one's own building?
Milwaukee Road decals19 Dec 2004 12:45 GMT5
Does anyone know a source for locomotive number decals for The Milwaukee
Road in the late 1940s?  What I need are the gold numbers with red outline
that were used on their early diesels that were in the orange, maroon and
gray livery, specifically the Alco RSC-2 and Fairbanks-Morse ...

Could you please direct me to the different firms that supply Peco, Hornby
etc in Melbourne, or if much cheaper, online in Australia? Also, where would
I go to buy second hand Peco, Superquick, Tri-ang, Hornby and Wrenn
Bachmann E-Z Command 36-550 DCC Decoders18 Dec 2004 16:43 GMT1
It seems that the latest batch of Bachmann 36-550 DCC decoders (Lenz
LE1014Es in Bachmann packaging) have been reprogrammed by the chappies at
Barwell in an attempt to get them to work better with their DCC command
centre.

Does anyone know if the updated Athearn F7s that are being released in the
"Ready-to-Run" series include the DCC quick-plug, like other newish RTRs?

Bachmann DCC18 Dec 2004 10:01 GMT3
Does anyone know how much current the Bachmann Eazy-DCC system will
deliver.  I know that it's supplied with a 1 amp transformer, but I am
told (by the M G Sharpe models website) that it is capable of delivering
more that this.
Belgian website with English translation18 Dec 2004 09:34 GMT10
My website, http://home2.scarlet.be/gerolfp/, describing the evolution of my
Belgian layout, is now available in English too.
I think non-Belgian folks might enjoy my site as well, as it describes a lot
of hints on subjects I've been reading in this newsgroup.
A Concept For Christmas (LONG)18 Dec 2004 07:24 GMT36
Most of us have heard of or seen concept cars at motor shows - you know, the
futuristic versions with gadgets and innovations not yet on the market but
which represent the designers' ideas for future enhancements to the car or
its general engineering.
Micro-Mark variable speed drill press18 Dec 2004 05:57 GMT5
Have one of the above and just got off the phone complaining to Micro-Mark
about the drive belts for the unit. Got mine in June, 2004, I'm on my third
drive belt and the last one didn't last more than 10 minutes. Okay it was
defective, but the one that came with the unit didn't ...

Baseboard construction advice for N gauge layout18 Dec 2004 04:45 GMT9
I've been considering buying a custom made baseboard but these dont have
much scope for scenic areas lower than the trackbed with their solid tops.
My layout is planned to fit on three baseboards. A 4 ft x 2 ft board for the
scenic section and a 2ft x 1ft at each end of it to ...
