Air Brush choice16 Dec 2004 15:44 GMT17
I am in the market for an air brush and have read about the Badger
line, but don't know what would be best for a beginner that wants to
be able to grow and not find my choice lacking later on.
Any suggestions or observations are most welcome.

Final (I think...) N-Scale decision, and thanks to all16 Dec 2004 13:09 GMT11
After a lot of shopping, and talking with my father, who is going in on the
gift, and who also called our "local" model train shop (nearly 50 miles
away, so "local" isn't quite the right word), I think I'm going to go with
the Bachman Spectrum Santa Fe set.  I'm a bit uncomfortable ...

Out-of-gauge wheels on Spectrum Doodlebug16 Dec 2004 02:23 GMT1
One rear axle on my N scale Spectrum Doodlebug is out-of-gauge [too
wide], causing it to derail on one switch -- it wants to turn out
instead of going straight.  Is there a way to correct this?  If so, how
do I do it?
Bridge clearances16 Dec 2004 00:43 GMT3
Hi all, back after 6 months off list.
Have added a new section to our layout that includes a canal. Track must
cross this canal and by requirement must also clear the associated bridle
paths.
N-Scale New Product Etched Brass Access ladder & safety cage15 Dec 2004 21:49 GMT1
N scale factories need access and service ladders. Osha requires
access ladders over 20 feet to have a safety cage at 30 feet, a
platform is required. As a N-Scale Plant manager, you are required by
law to ensure the safety of your crew.

Train camera15 Dec 2004 21:39 GMT8
Has anyone had any experiance with the train cameras that are advertised in
the model press.?
These are the type that fit in a enclosed coach etc with a pinhole camera
and transmitter, that enables the picture to be seen on a TV screen.
MTH Sound15 Dec 2004 20:11 GMT30
Just got back from the local model store here in Atlanta, where I was shown
something that I think is so brilliant I wish I had thought of it!!!!
Apparently, the new range of HO Locos, will have the option of analog, DCC
equipped or DCC/Sound Equipped.
Old Mantua Couplers15 Dec 2004 14:26 GMT18
Hi,  This should separate the boys from the men.  The old men, I mean.
Does anybody remember the very old Mantua couplers?  They consisted of
flat, oval shaped metal loops, about 1/32 thick. Can someone refresh MY
memory..how did they uncouple?
playdo and n scale cars15 Dec 2004 06:59 GMT5
I am new a this, but my cars seem very light and derail farily easy. I
filled the caboos with playdo and it feels a little heavy and stays on
track . Is is ok to put playdo in the cars, or is it a stupid idea?
Thx,
