Wireless tether?13 Dec 2004 14:34 GMT4
Currently both MTH and BLI  advertise a PRR  K-4 as their newest product
release. Features mentioned by each sound alike however Mike's is to be
metal instead of plastic.  More interesting is a wireless tether from loco
to tender by MTH?  How do they do it?
DCC13 Dec 2004 12:13 GMT5
After going to Warley last weekend and looking at DCC I am still confused
which system to go for - I'm completely new at this and don't want to make
an expensive mistake. I'm sure these questions have been asked before and I
apologize for asking them again
1/05 MR Cover Image13 Dec 2004 11:39 GMT19
I was surprised that MR chose to have the adult man working the train
throttle w/ the young boy, presumably his son, looking on as a spectator.
I was under the impression that the primary objective of the "World's
Greatest Hobby" recruiting campaign was to entice younger ...
newbie layout and electrical questions13 Dec 2004 07:12 GMT2
i just finished putting my tracks down and doing the wiring. It took a
lot of effort but came out pretty nice and runs farily smooth. I have
an outside loop with two turnouts into a middle loop with two turnouts
into an inside loop. I also have a couple of turns to add stuff later.

Leaving this Board13 Dec 2004 04:23 GMT19
I am an American, a veteran, and a train guy. So fed up with the BS on this
board, that I am going to find other things to do. Perhaps I will come back
when you guys are done re-hashing history and bashing the US. Sorry to leave
some old friends and good comments about model ...

Who staffed RPO cars?13 Dec 2004 03:26 GMT5
I was recently watching some historical railroad videos and I noticed that in
the discussion on RPO cars, staff working in the cars were all carrying
firearms. I gather from the wild west times, that mail cars carried money since
they were targets of train robberies. Does anyone ...
Train Scales13 Dec 2004 02:26 GMT32
I was recently embarassed by being asked how rr scales originated -
HO, O, OO, N, e.g. Although I am acquainted with the varying track
widths of each I have no idea how these designations originated. Any
help will spare me from further embarassment.
Just a "heads up"12 Dec 2004 21:55 GMT5
Maybe it's been posted before, but not too long ago Harbor Freight had
on sale a little "Mini cut-off saw".  THis is like the cutoff saws
used in metal working, and something like the miter saws used by
carpenters.  Very thin, fine tooth blade, but the blades are pricey,

Bachmann Jinty & K312 Dec 2004 18:24 GMT42
The new Jinty is rather nice. I don't know how accurate it is. It
looks spot on though!

Automatic N gauge uncoupling help12 Dec 2004 11:10 GMT2
On my current layout uncouping of wagons takes place by "the hand of god".
On my new layout I am planning I would like to automate uncoupling wagons so
that the hand of god can concentrate on other things.
