Wigan show this weekend at Robin Park - plenty of parking. Diesel layouts include Charlotte Road (now with 47's and Warship - since Warley!) and Dewsbury Midland (Blue diesel period) Steam is represented by Hungerford, amongst others.

I was wondering if there were some typical things to check on this. My light in dim in my 2029 2-6-4 steam engine. I put a new light in, the socker seemed loose so I tightened it too. Now it seems dimmer.

I am thinking of getting a Hornby 9F for my layout. Anyone have any opinions of them, running etc. I have one second radius curve in the fiddle yard, all other radius are larger.I will be using Digitraxx DCC if it makes a difference.

I have a couple of Bachmann J39s and I'm thinking of changing to DCC. But how can you install a decoder on a split chassis loco like the J39. (Are we talking a new (Comet or Dave Bradwell) chassis??). Has anyone managed to fit one and if so how??

Whilst operating my layout (cough... playing trains) the other day, I decided to use (as loco 0) an unchipped Bachmann 08. A few other locos (all chipped) suddenly got the e-bee-jee-be's and started moving in all directions at varying speeds. I've seen postings before about locos ...

The subject says it all. How do I remove the shell from an american flyer 303 locomotive? I've removed the shell from the tender, but not from the engine itself. I'm sure this is easy. Anyone have any quick hints?
