Kato Unitrack turnouts04 Dec 2004 13:25 GMT3
My layout is made using Kato Unitrack.  They have two types of turnouts,
both of which cut power automatically to a spur as the switch is thrown.
One of these kinds is not remotely controlled and the power cut
condiguration can easily be changed by little screws on the bottom.
Source for Coreless motors.04 Dec 2004 10:52 GMT23
Does anyone have a source for coreless motors to purchase in one off
quantities.   I've managed to exist over the years on Portescap RG4s
and some small Faulhaber 1524s which were given to me,  but I'm now
looking for a larger design of motor to put in a 7mm model.
Tons of new rr photos at Castle Graphics...04 Dec 2004 08:11 GMT1
I've not posted on here for awhile, so I can't even name all the new
additions that I've got.  One big one is the addition of about 170+ CB&Q
steam locomotives, and a new gallery of panoramic railroad photos.
You'll just have to search for the rest...  :)
Stopping a Train04 Dec 2004 04:21 GMT13
I am considering the idea of placing some dead track sections
[controlled by an ON-OFF toggle switch] at high risk locations
[crossings, tunnel exits, etc.] to safe guard against a collision
between a continuous running train [unmonitored] and any other train. I
Bachmann Jinty & K304 Dec 2004 01:29 GMT17
Jinty and K3 arrived in nearby model shop today!
37/0's also VERY imminent - wouldn't surprise me if there are a few at the
NEC this weekend.
Also the Heljan Western has hit these shores and is rumoured to be available
Genesis Challenger/MRC Sound Decoder03 Dec 2004 23:40 GMT6
When I read that MRC was responsible for the decoder in the Genesis
Challenger, I cringed - MRC's own cheapie sound decoders have generally
received unfavorable reviews. So, I was curious to know if they used a stock
MRC sound decoder, or if MRC made improvements for Athearn?
Rail Express magazine03 Dec 2004 19:21 GMT2
Has anyone seen the latest edition of Rail Express magazine ? Guessing
the date on it should be January 2005? The Latest one I've got had the
73 on the front cover?
Are they not supposed to come out on  or about the 18th of the month?
Lionel Model 33 Motor\Part Number03 Dec 2004 18:55 GMT2
I've been looking for a motor for a Lionel Model 33 train.  When i look
for a motor for this locomotive, i come across many part numbers and
motor types.  I'm not sure which motor will work with this locomotive.
I haven't taken the engine apart to get more information, I thought I'd
wiring newbie03 Dec 2004 18:19 GMT5
Hi, I am starting to put together an n scale layout and I am totally
new at this and new to this newsgroup. I have some questions about
wiring.
I am planning to have two loops connected by two switches that will
December 2, Report - 530+ Missouri Railroad Depots.  Frisco, Rock Island and MKT depots this time.  plus a 1910 Liberal, MO.03 Dec 2004 17:36 GMT2
This batch comes from William Bunch and Richard Napper.  I’m beginning
to get into towns I’ve never even heard of.  Things should be getting
more interesting as I go.
Stay Tuned.

the set on a board?
Many thanks.
Belgian website with English translation03 Dec 2004 16:26 GMT7
My website, http://home2.scarlet.be/gerolfp/, describing the evolution of my
Belgian layout, is now available in English too.
I think non-Belgian folks might enjoy my site as well, as it describes a lot
of hints on subjects I've been reading in this newsgroup.

Ballast hints - thanks!!03 Dec 2004 14:25 GMT2
Many thanks to the posters about ballast. Very helpful NG! After
scraping away unwanted ballast, I'm now concerned that future ballasting
will look a lot better - and won't match previous bad sections!! A good
problem to have.
