In regard to a run of DCC-ready GE 44tonners coming from Bachmann, in the
Spectrum line: Are they "coming" or have they already been on the market and
I just missed them? I've already had a couple from a previous run, and they

Looking for Broken Trains28 Dec 2004 03:36 GMT5
I'm interested in using some G scale model trains to decorate a babies
bedroom.  There's a good spot for a train on top of the closet.
There's no electricity there, so I thought I'd find some non-working
trains to set up there.
Trailing truck position28 Dec 2004 03:12 GMT5
Just dismantle a 2-8-0 steam engine (a K36). I did not pay enough attention
at removing the trailing truck and now I don't where to put the spring:
between the frame and the truck support or between the support and the head
screw. I tried both ways but did not see big differences.

Also Received a Depot Photo from a new contributor.  Phillip Starks
shared his photo of Moscow (Mills).  The selections are still getting

Long Trains / Switching / Spaghetti Track27 Dec 2004 13:37 GMT40
Along with my book search to assist me in drafting a layout and my train
era questions from a recent thread, I am equally interested in your
views [practices] regarding track design. I have over simplified the
options into three general track designs that I have toyed with in my

Any clever tricks for straightening flex track?27 Dec 2004 05:52 GMT7
I'm in the process of laying a lot of track using Micro Engineering flex
track (Illinois Central's Markham Yard (!)). As you know, this flex track
has a fair amount of "memory". That is, when bent to a certain shape, it
tends to hold that shape.
