Old Tri-ang16 Jan 2005 22:49 GMT9
Hi, thought I would check out this NG, as I have just pulled the old
Train set out. It is old Hornby Dublo and Tri-ang, it would seem that
the best track to get for this old gear is Code 100 track, form reading
old posts. I still have old Tri-ang track, but the fish plates need

K3 track test16 Jan 2005 18:21 GMT9
Seeing as how the weather this morning was rather nice (10 degrees, no
rain, hardly any wind at all) I decided to run in my K3 and perform the
usual haulage tests. On my layout, I can couple the tender closely, so I
did. Here's what I discovered.
Zero 1 controller16 Jan 2005 15:38 GMT10
Can a Zero 1 controller puchased in the UK be converted to operated in
the USA I was thinking if the transformer is change out to handle the
110 voltage in the USA or just using on110 volts then it may work. I
know it is no longer made or supported but I think it may be worth a ...
Life-like warehouse burns down16 Jan 2005 14:17 GMT13
I just saw on the news this evening that the Life-Like warehouse in
Baltimore burned down today.  It was a very old building, I think their
Proto 2000 warehouse was loosely based on it.
I don't know how many of their operations were run from that building
FAQ?: Code 70 or 83?16 Jan 2005 10:51 GMT6
What should I take into consideration when deciding whether to go for code
70 or code 83 track in a new HO layout?
I like the look of code 70 track, but I also like the quality of Peco
track and I gather their new line of code 83 track is very good.
HO Track Recommendation16 Jan 2005 00:41 GMT4
After weeks of research, I learned that many people find Kato unitrack
to be the best (albeit pricey) track for N scale.
So much for that research, because after going to the Great Midwest
Train Show in Wheaton IL today, I decided I am going to go HO for my
N scale DC layout based steam sound15 Jan 2005 22:05 GMT1
I have a retro-DC N scale layout, run steam locos and want sound.  Any
recommendations for systems that will syncronize with the throttle to some
degree?

To anyone from the northeastern part of Pa., in the town of

BEWARE- AVOID the Maytag appliance store on Rt. 309 by Home Depot, in
Wilkes-Barre. The guy that owns it is a major jerk, he talked me into a

Sand trains15 Jan 2005 12:42 GMT15
I'm struggling with a new layout I'm building at the moment. I'm
modelling (artistic licence) part of our line (The Churnet Valley Railway)
before we took it over and when BR used it for hauling its sand trains over.
Now it is well documented the locos that were used to carry ...
