Bachmann 200512 Jan 2005 18:50 GMT59
We now know Hornby's intentions for better or worse (better in my case with
the Stanier coaches presumably to the same high standard as the Gresleys).
Does anyone know anything about Bachmann's? Or when they might be telling
anyone?

Another rude A3 name12 Jan 2005 10:39 GMT15
There was some discussion a while back about suggestive names carried
by A3 pacifics (which as most people know where named after racehorses:
see http://www.winwaed.com/rail/LNER/locos/A/racehorses.shtml). Among
those mentioned were "Gay Crusader", "Merry Hampton" and "Call Boy".
08 vs 08 Hornby 2005 prices12 Jan 2005 10:27 GMT53
Hornby list their 08 as £55, which I guess will mean it will retail for
around £40-43. I thaught it was going to have working lights, but it is
described as lamp and pipe work detail, which means they have included blobs
of plastic or metal moulded to the required shape, not actual ...

    Happy New Year TYA
Santa bought me a nice new Hornby R2382 Black 5 (Weathered)
loco for Xmas and I am really pleased with it's performance. Makes my
old fleet of Triang/Hornby stuff look a bit past it.
Where can I actually go ride a real train in the Buffalo, NY area?12 Jan 2005 05:46 GMT9

Sources for traditional Lionel O gauge track12 Jan 2005 04:19 GMT5
Does anyone out there know of a good online source for traditional Lionel
style, 3-rail, O gauge track at bulk/discounted pricing?
I'm looking to build a fair sized (12' x 6' L-shaped) old fashioned,
care-free, rugged, fun-to-run layout to relieve stress from my other
DC control12 Jan 2005 02:38 GMT2
After some testing of the circuits on my web page some minor changes are
recommended. I have removed 2 diodes and changed capacitor values on the
power supply circuit so the maximum track voltage is above 12V. The original
circuit resulted in a 10V maximum. On the block circuit ...

Deep Indian Red12 Jan 2005 00:54 GMT30
At the risk of starting something:
I was talking to a co-conspirator last weekend (spelt f-e-l-l-o-w
m-o-d-e-l-l-e-r) about the colour schemes used by NSWGR over the years.
We agreed that the red they generally used was called Deep Indian Red.
HELP EACH OTHER MAKE MONEY12 Jan 2005 00:24 GMT10
I'm sure you've read these letters asking you to send $1 to six
different addresses. Putting your home address or mailing address on
the internet can be risky, but through PayPal all you have to provide
is your email address. It's safe and easy. Just go to www.paypal.com
Can You Identify This Train?11 Jan 2005 21:38 GMT1
I was wondering if anyone could identify the model train on my website
http://www.the-heathers.nildram.co.uk/Train/
It is live steam, fueled by methylated spirits
I'm told it belonged to my grandfather with places it in the first half of
2005 Catalogue11 Jan 2005 21:27 GMT6

I guess we wont see Bachman's fairy tale book till Feb, but the Hornby one
is supposedly out this week according to Pat Hammonds sight.
My local retailer went to Margate yesterday to see the 2005 range, or at
