Long grass required.09 Jan 2005 23:06 GMT24
Can any and all offer tips on ways to create long grass?
I've tried a few things, but would like to move on from experimenting to
finding something the result of which I'm happy with.
I want grass/weeds that, in real life, would come up to somewhere around
Wiring in a RELCO device.09 Jan 2005 22:50 GMT2
Can anyone guide me on how to wire up a RELCO device to my two rail layout
please.
I have a RELCO, which when laid on the table has to the left, 2 terminals
plus the words 'OUT' & 'TO TRACK'. On the right are 2 terminals and the
Quicklime on trains?09 Jan 2005 21:50 GMT3
There are loads of limekilns in NE England (and elsewhere) which had their
own railway sidings. I've been looking on the internet for accounts of how
the lime was transported, but found very little detail, apart from a
statement that the railways were entitled to refuse to carry the ...
Who has the least expensive HO signals??09 Jan 2005 21:27 GMT2
Just wondering who I might get a bunch of signals from that won't cost me
dearly..... I have looked at some of the UK sites and they are beautifully
crafted in brass and therefore pricey. I don't need brass signals - just
relatively fine plastic. Am after both kinds - ( I know ...
What was the most beautiful?09 Jan 2005 21:14 GMT123
Just wondering which Loco folks thought was the prettiest/toughest/best
looking from the steam era?
So far for me, it would have to be the Stirling 8 ft. single which ran in
the UK - it was 4-2-2 and known for its pulling power and speed.....also
'Hornby' Shell wagon...09 Jan 2005 20:55 GMT7
This is the yellow TTA variety with company name and logo in red which I
think was originally sold as Triang. Were these ever fitted with end ladders
as they are msisng from the example I've got and every one I've seen on
eBay?
Electrical question: Proto 2000 E709 Jan 2005 20:53 GMT19
I just picked up an E7 with a working Mars light. It works great under DC,
but won't light under DCC. Do I have to replace the bulb - it seems to have
2 filaments that alternate back and forth - or can it be programmed by the
decoder?
Barter offer09 Jan 2005 19:45 GMT4
Is there a dealer out there who would be interested in trading trains for a HP
Laserjet 3380 all in one printer, fax, copier and scanner.  This is a unit made
for business use.  I don't know what retail is but the discount price
everywhere is $699.  It is new in the box.  I live in ...
Are you accusing anyone Greg?09 Jan 2005 19:22 GMT12
"Terry, You really are such a boy!!  If you want to do something
constructive
why dont you put your energies in to exposing the vested interests in the
model railway scene where a promotion and brand loyalty scheme is masked as
Is Tender Driven Better?09 Jan 2005 17:38 GMT10
It may be the case that tender driven locomotives have been around for a
long time though I had never encountered them up till my leaving the hobby
in 1974....
so I am just wondering if there was a reason other than standardisation of
Future Bachmann 37s09 Jan 2005 17:16 GMT3
Just wondering if anyone has any idea or thoughts on when Bachmann will a)
release a 37/0 without the buffer surrounds, and b) release a 37/4 with the
shape improvements of the current 37/0
regards
Best price for Bachmann HO Climax?09 Jan 2005 17:10 GMT12
Who is offering the best price for the new Bachmann HO scale Climax?  I
just checked Caboose Hobbies, and their price of $198.98 seems a bit
steep to me.   Trainworld lists them at $159.95, but their delivery
date is "TBA".
loco shakes09 Jan 2005 15:44 GMT5
I have an n scale bachman loco, that i beleive is called an 0-6-0. It
is a steam engine. I noticed that it shakes like hell all over the
track. At first I thought that the track was uneven, but it shakes
everyewhere. I removed the little rubber thingies in the front wheels.

Hand laying spikes09 Jan 2005 12:44 GMT3
My lifetime supply of Kemtron and Shinohara spikes, code 70,
just ran out.  Ordered some 3/8" through Walthers from
Micor Engineering but the look like they're on steroids or
something.  Had to clip half the head off everyone just to
