Anybody know if "The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Yards" (Model Railroader Books) is any good? Trains.com sent me a "special offer" e-mail, offering to save me a whole $5 if I bought both it and "The Model Railroader's Guide to Freight Cars".

I have created a block using insulating pins (put in the middle rail). I believe I have wired the 153 signal block and 153C contactor correctly: 1 to green, 2 to red, 3 to transformer, and middle terminal on signal block to transformer.

I'm seriously thinking of moving into scratchbuilding for some new stock (simple locos, trams, carriages & wagons - EM gauge - yes, I've got the EM Society's handbook (and pretty good it is too)).

Just arrived into stock this morning:- EWS class 66 diesel - but in VERY limited quantities all of which are spoken for. BR black Hall class 4-6-0 "St Edmund Hall" again in limited quantities.

I'm building a model railway, which will be a two-track mainline and single branchline, set "somewhere north", covering both Midland and Eastern Regions and set in mid-50's to mid-60's. Some of the through trains will be parcels/mail and also sleeper services.
