| Rail Code, HO | 06 Mar 2005 21:54 GMT | 11 |
I understand we are speaking about the rail "height", and that 100 is larger than 83, etc. But, my question is, how tall in prototype inches is the various rail codes? ie: Does Code 100 = 6"? TYIA

| Hornby 31, DCC & some thoughts. | 06 Mar 2005 18:11 GMT | 15 |
Well I have to say that I'm moderately impressed with the Hornby 31 - at least with the blue version. Never was a big 'skinhead' fan, so these comments are aimed purely and simply at the banger blue model which has been trundling around my layout for the last hour or so.

Recently received a Trainorama newsletter re the planned 42 class etc. Noticed a note whereby they would be released in "both bogie" styles. No doubt, it is a misprint ??? Looking forward to their release, although repowering my Lima 4205 with

I am going to buy the new large Walthers turntable once released. I am not going to free lance my layout when I do decide to build. I have a large number of big steam engines and wanted to hear from other large layout modelers who have turntables. I want to know what are the

I am planning a small HO switching layout. The question is the choice of track. I have used Walthers (Shinohara) Code 83 before with satisfactory results. However, two recent articles on switching layouts in the most recent Model Raailroad Planning 2005 both report using Peco

| Help with buildings for model railroad planning 2005 layout | 05 Mar 2005 15:57 GMT | 12 |
Hi everyone, I just received the 2005 model railroad planning and I'm really interested in the "compact layout #1" on page 50. I'm just getting back in to the hobby, and want to get a small layout up and running while I start the "big" layout.

| track cleaning car | 05 Mar 2005 06:15 GMT | 6 |
I am looking for a track cleaning car in ho scale. As I am in a wheelchair, I have to get friends to clean the track for me with a rubber like block. I would like to be a little more independent and I was wondering if the track cleaning cars work and which make? I am using

| FS: ME Rail, wood ties, Kadee Spiker | 05 Mar 2005 00:22 GMT | 3 |
I've recently decided to changeover from hand laying to flex track for my HO railroad. So, I have a fair amount of track laying supplies that I'd like to sell. I expect I will put it up on eBay but I've never sold anything before there and thought it might be worth a try to ...

| G Scale Track | 04 Mar 2005 16:14 GMT | 4 |
I'm considering track for a G scale garden railway, but as I am far more familiar with OO/HO track, I am unsure which brand of track to buy. How do you guys feel the different brands compare? I'd like to avoid steel, which as I understand, rules out Bachmann.

| Modelling aesthetic | 04 Mar 2005 07:28 GMT | 13 |
I'm just getting started in Nscale and am considering using the modelling approach employed by many architects. This is an aesthetic using a limited palette of materials, colors, and textures - not srtiving for "realism," emphasizing mostly massing. All unpainted

| Turntable at the end of a fiddle yard | 03 Mar 2005 23:18 GMT | 11 |
I have been planning a layout for an 11ftx11ft area and to save space was going to have the fiddle area at at lower level under the layout but was facing the problem of having a 22in radius curve into and out of the fiddle area and having sufficient length of sidings allowing for
