Consists with more than one roadname14 Mar 2005 22:38 GMT36
Is there any prototypical reason why one road would lash up with another
road in a single consist? Or would this only happen after the two roads
merged and one of the engines hadn't been repainted yet?
Questions about an HO set I have14 Mar 2005 21:34 GMT1
I received a Walthers "Trainline" Deluxe HO Railroad Set as a gift
back in 1995. It is a Caterpillar Tractor Co. themed set. Since that
time I haven't done much with it. I did try a few times in the last
decade to see if anything showed up about this particular set, on the

Automatic wire stripper14 Mar 2005 13:28 GMT4
My automatic wire stripper is wearing out, and I would like a better one
for small hook-up wires. I have found two units online that say they
will strip 22-28 gauge wires [mine was rated for 10-18 gauge]. They are
a Gardner-Bender stripper and the QuikStrip [which comes in a ...

New N-Scale Product: Rest Area kit #214 Mar 2005 03:20 GMT1
Due to the overwhelming response of Rest Area 1 SMD Products decided to
launch it's companion kit.
This is a rest area with facilities instead of a picnic shelter.  It
still includes the popular picnic tables.
Rolling stock parts13 Mar 2005 21:54 GMT2
I have come across a bunch of old rollingstock.  Some of them seem to be
interesting pieces.  Most of them are in varying conditions. missing wheels,
couplers, brake wheels ladders abd stirrups.  I would like to restore these.
I have not done this before. Can someone direct me to ...
New To The Hobby - Your Opinions Wanted13 Mar 2005 12:52 GMT14
Hi there~
As a kid, I always said to myself that some day I was going to have a grand
model railroad set when I "grew up".  Well, I haven't really grown up, but I
am older now and I want to jump into the great hobby of model railroading.
Railroad font source13 Mar 2005 05:46 GMT3
Does anyone know of a source for fonts used in lettering road names for
the various roads over the years?
I want to do some custom lettering but need to find a source for a
specific font.
IHC  4-8-2s13 Mar 2005 05:10 GMT3

Thanks in advance.
IHC Hudsons12 Mar 2005 20:37 GMT13
I've just started in HO after a long hiatus.  What are people's
opinions on IHC locos in general and their new Hudson's they are
advertizing in the mags.  The free 080 switcher with this purchase
seems like a great deal unless they are junk.
HELP!! Get me started12 Mar 2005 16:41 GMT2
I could use some help. I've always turned to enthusiast newsgroups for
advice and never been steered wrong, unlike the stuff that's out there on
the web.
Anyway, my father-in-law wants to build a pretty big model railroad for his
Trains by suction - Model Rail article12 Mar 2005 13:01 GMT51
I found the article in Model Rail April by Robin Green (The trials of
Treoch) very interesting involving the use of the "Atmospheric Railway"
technique to move model trains by suction.
The only thing that was glaring in its absence was mention of how points are
Midland Wagon Lift - How does it work?12 Mar 2005 08:41 GMT8
Following on from Keith supplying the URL of the Midland railway wagon lift
<http://www.scalefour.org/e4um/hoist.htm>
has anyone got any ideas as to how it might have worked?
It looks as though the wagon platform ran on rails and was raised and lowered
