My layout progress - April 200506 Apr 2005 23:41 GMT2
Have some more progress shots of the woodwork for my layout. Progress
is so slow, but I am busy on many fronts so I hope it is
understandable. Anyhow here's the progress :

Re-naming the Bachman Hall06 Apr 2005 21:14 GMT8
I am interested in the new Bachman Hall, but need to know which numbers it
is suitable to be re-named/numbered to ? I believe there are differences in
the class which means only certain members of the class are suitable as new
identities?

Anybody know how to get the bogie frame off without breaking the fragile
plastic around the securing clips on the main part of the bogie? I 'm
thinking of fiting body mounted Kadees and would need to chop the NEM pocket
off.
G Scale06 Apr 2005 12:09 GMT2
I am contemplating getting into G scale.  I was wondering if the different
brand name (i.e.; LBG, Bachman) trains, track and accessories are
compatible.  Also would I be better off to choose one brand and stick with
it? Any opinions on which would be preferred?
Peco 'Universal'06 Apr 2005 10:04 GMT3
I've read a lot about track standards on the Google archive of this
group, but can someone specifically comment on Peco's various
'standards'?
I have some 20+ year old 'Universal' points - old, though not
Airfix Fire Engine and London Bus06 Apr 2005 05:55 GMT7
I dunno if this will be of any use to anyone here, but Airfix have recently
reissued their 1/32 scale Dennis Fire Engine and London Bus, both in the
same box.  Apparently the kits are moulded in red (!) plastic and the parts
for the military "Old Bill Bus" are not included.
Reversing Loops06 Apr 2005 04:00 GMT20
I've designed my basic track, and now am considering adding a reversing
loop into the mix, to make it easier to turn loco's/trains around
without needing a full turntable, or the hand from the sky.
Basic current layout (inner loop only)...
Lighting an Unelectrified Passenger Car06 Apr 2005 03:40 GMT5
Wondering if anyone has a good link which will walk someone through what
needs to be done to modify an unelectrified passenger car so that it can
have internal lighting and/or sound installed.
Thanks!
Cast Iron Train05 Apr 2005 21:42 GMT1
My father just purchased a Cast Iron train consisting of a locomotive, coal
car, and 3 passenger cars.
The coal car has "PRR" on each side. Does anyone know where we can find more
information on this train or type of train?
Has my DCC decoder died?05 Apr 2005 17:30 GMT13

I have a Bachmann digital starter set, and have been running my type 25

Goodbye China?05 Apr 2005 07:00 GMT16
This was on the Pat Hammond site today!!!
Also it is not to late to vote in his top ten poll. Rebuilt West Country's
and Battle of Britain's are only two votes behind.
All the best Steve

Does anyone have the new Atlas N-scale Shay?05 Apr 2005 04:04 GMT3
Have any of you tried out the new 2-truck Shay yet?
It's only a matter of time before I break down and buy one.  (Come on, tax
return!)
It's a sweet-looking model.  How does it run?
