I am just wondering if anyone has built the layout from the book "N Scale Model Railroad That Grows" by Kent Wood and Ric Laban. I am thinking of building this layout, and was just curious if anyone else has.

I've noticed that when the KCS passes near where I work, there are usually a few very large tank cars in the train. They are about twice as long as a normal tanker and have two trucks at each end. They are usually mixed in with other tank cars.

While checking out the Bachmann site I noted their announcement of a NEW scale - "A-1" scale. It is SMALLER than Z scale, so they had to start at the first of the alphabet. The first model looks like they used their plans for the On30 gas mechanical:

I just wanted to make sure I'm using the right rating on my resistors that will be used inline with Athearn Genesis mini-bulbs (as found in their F units). I have calculated that the minimum I should use is 680 ohms, but is there a lower rating that would result in brighter bulbs ...
