The joys of garden railways14 Apr 2005 18:35 GMT9
Yesterday, I saw two robins sitting next to each other on the layout.
One was jumping down to the garden, selecting something to eat, flying
back up to the layout, and giving it to the other, then repeating the
process. Needless to say (a) all trains stopped for the duration, and ...

A friend of mine is looking for a brass HO scale Stephenson's Rocket.
Does anyone have any information on who may have manufactured this and
when?  Anything to help him narrow his search would be appreciated.

I'm sure you've read these letters asking you to send $1 to six
different addresses. Putting your home address or mailing address on
the internet can be risky, but through PayPal all you have to provide
is your email address. It's safe and easy. Just go to www.paypal.com

Brass - Buying and Selling13 Apr 2005 22:37 GMT1
Can anyone refer me to a web site or person who deals in brass engines?
I am interested in selling the only two brass items I have.  1 piece
in HO (posted here), and 1 piece in Z-scale.  Yeah, the Z-scale item
will be hard for me to sell.  Thanks for any input.

Made in China?13 Apr 2005 11:27 GMT140
There has been much political speculation of late as to what China would do
if Taiwan declared independence, with clear signs coming from Beijing that a
military intervention would be a distinct possibility.
What would the West do if this scenario became reality?  Could it result in

Lash-Up Rigs?12 Apr 2005 18:41 GMT13
What's a good source for a lash-up bar to link Athearn F-7 A and B
diesel power units, replacing hook-horn couplers?  Are there different
length bars as might be appropriate to provide clearance for different
minimum radius curves?  Thx.
Rivarossi locomotive age...12 Apr 2005 14:33 GMT2
Does anyone know how to easily tell the relative age of a Riv locomotive?
I'm kind of interested in a 2-10-2, but don't want one of the older ones.
I've had really good luck with the newer Riv offerings but can't say the
same about the older ones.
Another Model Shop lost12 Apr 2005 13:18 GMT73
I heard yesterday that Shrewsbury Model Shop is to close it's town centre
shop, and move to the outskirts where it is to become a Mail Order ONLY
business.
I know it won't affect this group much, but it is another nail in the coffin

I'm gradually completing a Southern Pride kit of a class 205 unit. I'm
struggling a bit with all the underframe detail. Does anybody have any
photos of a completed kit, or can suggest a web site that has such
photos, that I can use for reference. I've found a few with pictures
