Lorries for layouts09 Apr 2005 10:58 GMT3
I'm looking for some lorries for my new layout, Oakamoor, which is OO
scale. I have seen some in the past which are Volvo or ERF tractor units
with various trailers. I thought they were Cararama, but appear not. They
were of similar quality and style of box. They were not ...
Traders and credit cards09 Apr 2005 08:33 GMT10
Last week I read some comments about trade stands at the Hobson's Bay
exhibition no longer accepting credit cards and I encountered a similar
problem last weekend at the Canberra exhibition. The trader explained
that the vendor fees had gone up from something like $160 per year to

Dapol 14xx - Comments?08 Apr 2005 19:57 GMT7
Has anyone tried this engine out in anger yet, I have read a few
reviews, non of which were very clear as to its running, is it a
jackrabit that overtakes express engines or is it a competent slow
runner.  Any comments welcome, its not my money I would be spending if
Colored poly fiber fill?08 Apr 2005 16:29 GMT5
From time to time, I've seen references here and elsewhere about colored
poly fiber fill (black, grey & green).  Aside from the stuff sold by
Woodland Scenics, I've never seen anything else.  I've contacted some craft
shops in the area and get the blank look as well.

Some of us down here in the colonies are wondering what has happened to the

Loco crews08 Apr 2005 10:55 GMT11
I have decided it is time my locos had a crew in the cab. Thing is how do

Was there a set format laid down somewhere, or was it left to the loco
builders. Also did the crews all wear the same blue ...

Can anyone comment about Rivarossi passenger cars? Do they use
European-style couplers? Are they easily modified? What is the overall
quality, compared to a top-of-the-line manufacturer?
PVA glues07 Apr 2005 02:21 GMT1
I've been skimming through some old copies of "16mil today",  an
association mag. which have been given to me.   In an 'eighties edition
the editor wrote of constructing a retaining wall on a garden layout by
glueing stones together using "builders PVA glue".  The picture suggests

All,
I am a collector of PennLine (and some later Life Like) 60' passenger
