182 crane motor23 May 2005 21:44 GMT2
Anybody know where I can get the motor for a #182 crane? One wire from
the windings is broken and I can't find the
end of it.
                                                   Thanks in adv.

My apologies for this newbie question, but...
What's the easiest way to tell the difference between an EMD E-Unit, an
EMD F-Unit, and an Alco PA Unit?

Gang,
If you haven't picked up MR for a while this is a really good issue.
More meat than anything for a long time.
I'm glad to see the new one page contents much like in the old days but
Airbrush pressure gauge23 May 2005 13:13 GMT4
My Paasche D-500 came equipped with a Badger regulator/moisture trap
that shows pressure to 160 psi. I would like an air pressure gauge that
shows pressure to 60 psi since the compressor's maximum is 28 psi. I
think that would be easier to set than the 160 psi gauge. I have ...
48 Class Decals23 May 2005 11:48 GMT2
Hi again.
Just wondering if anyone knows a shop that still has 48 class decals (Tuscan
scheme) in stock...seems they are pretty scarce at the moment.  Been doing
'net sites listed in AMRM, but that's a trauma on its own.
Horny HO Repairs23 May 2005 10:31 GMT6
I am setting up my Horby HO sets for my kids, and have found that none of
the trains work (they used to, about 15 years ago).  Could you please
recommend a site or book that would help me repair/clean/refurbish the
trains?  They are both diesel and steam.

I remember looking at a site featuring a garden railway but have lost the
address.
I think it was something about "Sand"
However, any OZ site would be welcome

Electrical smells22 May 2005 23:31 GMT4
I've just acquired a Lima loco that's pretty old (25 years, to be
precise). Before running it, I gave it a good clean up, and lubricated
it etc. Motor appears to be a Ringfield, possibly 3 pole, bogie mounted.
However, after about 10seconds of running, there is a nasty smell of

A question about Scale Structure Sizes22 May 2005 21:57 GMT3
What scale is  "Z"  scale.   Is it around  1/200 or is it smaller.  And
if so what is the size for it.  How difficult is it to find buildings in
that scale.
Thanks very much for your help

(UK) Advert -  Reminder Churnet Valley Railway Diesel Gala22 May 2005 21:23 GMT3
Just a reminder that this weekend will be the biggest diesel gala we
have ever had at the Churnet Valley Railway in Staffordshire. It starts
tomorrow (Friday) at about 9am with the launch of Class 47 192 back into
public service following a year long overhaul along with ...
