A part of rediscovering railway modelling that I've enjoyed is painting
carriages so the interiors look more realistic and authentic, rather
than the crappy hornby cream or white plastic. I've even started

I would like some variety to go with My Bachman BRA steel wagons.
How accurate / good are the following Lima Wagons
Lima Tiphook Rail.
Lima Railfreight Hooded Steel carrier

The Bachmann Class 66 has a switch on the underside to change between
Day and Night running lights - has anyone investigated the wiring to see
what needs to be done to have the lighting purely controlled via a
decoder, both for direction and lighting mode?

   The other day I picked up my dog eared copy of Will Cuppy's "How To Tell
Your Friends From The Apes" because sometimes I need a quick refresher
course so I can sort out my neighbors. Then I got to thinking about us as
Model Railroaders and that to some folks it might be hard to ...

On the back page of the Hornby club mag is an advert for "Collectors
Models". It seems to me these are standard Hornby models (Is this
true?), so I'm wondering what makes them special, apart from a piece of
paper suggesting they are limited editions.

Greetings! You will probably think I'm mad, but I wish to build a copy
of a steam engine (like a movie set, not with a working engine) but it
won't be full-size! I'd like to use some standard scale if possible, and
to call it by the correct scale name. I mean, who needs another ...

For plastic freight what's a good initial wash coat ( color & brand ) to
start weathering? Should there be a follow-up coat like dull coat. Benefit

Seems like a neat idea - metal template used to make switches.
So, my question is: Has anybody used one? And what do you think?

wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on this for me:
I have just received a Hornby Dublo TPO and it has electrical connection on
the wheels and some kind of electrified mechanism inside the coach. Is this
"factory" and if so is it a solenoid of some sort to power ...

Seen outside Reading: a train of no less than 39 Plasser & Theurer MFS
conveyors.  Quite impressive!

I have a problem on purchasing some inkjet decal paper from
www.beldecal.com. I tried to reach them via email several times to
check progress on my order. However, no one answer. Does anyone know a
working email for this web.

I have minimal knowledge and skills in electronics. Can you suggest a book
or other source to help me in wiring a layout? I will be using DCC... just
don't know which system yet.
