Can I get some advice from those of you that have layouts in their
lofts?
I have a large layout (just track & stock only atm) in my loft which
is a modern truss roof with a layer of black cloth type material

As I'm sure a lot of people know the Demodellers Yahoo group bit the dust
with a fair proportion of the membership transferring to the ModMod
group.
However, it's become quite noticable that ModMod is a very quiet group

I am going to be visiting NYC for a week and want to to know what hobby
shops not to miss.  My scale is HO.
I'll also be stopping over in Chicago, on Amtrak, and wondered if there
are any hobby shops near the station.  I'll have 5 hours if they're on

Steve, I now have not 1 but 2 of "the locomotive, the locomotive" but I now
have to find 2 Vanderbilt (oil) tenders for the HO cab forwards. Neither
came with one but the price was right and one was damaged in shipment, "big
cheers for insurance"!

The Paasche VL/MIL airbrushes are available in deluxe kits with wood
storage boxes, two paint bottles, and two extra [#1 & #5] needles and
tips.  Are these extra accessories used often enough to justify the
extra $25+ that they sell for?  My old beginner's airbrush didn't have

Don't forget that I have three brass HO scale locos (1 x Bergs 46
class, 2 x Mansfield 44 class) also listed on Ebay and they'll be
finishing in 6 days! I've added extra pictures to these listings btw.

Does anybody have any idea how many active modeelers and armchair modellers
