Chicago railroad map.30 Jun 2005 19:40 GMT8
Growing up in Chicago fifty years ago (gasp) my friends and I used to
play around a small CNW yard on the northwest side of the city.  In my
faded memory I believe that it would be a great little switching puzzle
yard to build up and take to shows... but I can't remember the exact

Private Poll - Who Wants a Comet30 Jun 2005 07:15 GMT14
Whilst speaking with a number of persons (Names withheld) involved with
the production of railway models over the weekend, I put forward the
view that re hashing models that have been done in the past could be an
exercise fraught with danger, and put forward that they instead should

Reports on the net over the weekend that Peco are to enter the ready-to-run
N-gauge loco market were today confirmed by their rep, who brought along a

It's worth reporting that this loco is to be produced DCC ...

I thought it was time for something other than politics. :-)
I just got a US Diesel loco in a box of junk. I was going to figure out
the prototype by searching through my stack of old mags, but some of

Marx 420029 Jun 2005 23:08 GMT3
I hope this is the correct list to ask maintenance questions about electric
trains. I have been on the list for a few days.
I am trying to get my loco running. It is from a Marx 4200 set. The engine
is a #400. The track and circuit are okay because my other engines run fine.
Helix29 Jun 2005 21:43 GMT4
There was an article in MR ( I think ) about automatic control of a
helix.  Anybody remember the month - or if my memory is totally out of
whack, the magazine?
thanks
Anti-Americanism - PLEASE DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!29 Jun 2005 17:17 GMT13
Please stop responding to the silly totally OT subject!
Obviously, someone is trolling for replies!
I thought that we are all smart enough not to keep those kinds of
postings alive on r.m.r.

Paint and TRack29 Jun 2005 03:53 GMT8
I have been painting my track over the last few months, first by hand, and
the by aerosol, from the local model store "Floquil Rail Brown". I am using
Peco Code 100 nickel silver track.
Problem is, doesn't to seem to matter how often I clean the top of the

Hoping someone can give me some infomation on the OHG gaurds vans, mainly
the introduction date. Those trainorama vans look pretty good and am hoping
to fit them into my time era (1950-1959).
Cheers

Hi again from OZ,
We were having a "66" night, last evening at our local club.  A discussion
ensued on the subject of the "Day/Night" lighting feature of the 66. As a
retired driver, I know all about marker lights etc, but day/night has us
