Finally got mine today (and a fine looking beast it is too), the EWS
version, and so put it straight onto the layout for a bit of running in.
Now, I have a short section (two lengths) of second radius track on this
layout, and the leading bogie kept sliding off when going round ...
Railroads to ride in central Colorado?12 Jun 2005 00:13 GMT8
I've already done the one in the western part of the state -- the Durango &
Silverton -- although it was 20 years ago, but we're going to be in central
Colorado this time, driving from Sante Fe, NM up to Leadville CO.
What are the good/best railroads to ride?
Rusty 55 Gallon Drums.11 Jun 2005 16:17 GMT1
Gary,  Try rolling thin copper strip round a wodden dowel solder at joint
then 'rust' with PCB etchant should work.  You could also try thin brass
strip as well I would think it would react moch like copper   Malcolm.
July MR - Atlas Dash 8 Review11 Jun 2005 04:03 GMT8
I wanted to solicit comments on MR's review of the Atlas Dash 8-40CW.  What
is really bothering me is the last paragraph stating to the effect "Atlas
doesn't recommend MU'ing the Silver and Gold Series".  Now, in normal DC
mode, I can totally understand this as the starting ...

Bachmann Standard 4MT 32-35610 Jun 2005 17:27 GMT17
Has anyone tried fitting a decoder to this model, and if so how did you
get the body off? I am beginning to suspect that the model has been
changed since previous versions and that the included assembly diagram
does not match the model.
H0 train layout10 Jun 2005 13:53 GMT4

Replacing wheelsets10 Jun 2005 06:16 GMT7
I want to replace the plastic wheel sets on my rolling stock with metal
wheel sets.  Is it as simple as replacing the wheel sets or do I need to
replace the whole truck assembly?  Which replacements are recommended?

Novice - HO Proto 2000 PA running problem10 Jun 2005 03:13 GMT4
I recently purchased a new Proto 2000 PA, which probably had a lot of
shelf time.  At first, it ran great.  Now, after about 15 minutes
total running time, it runs for about 5 feet and then stops.  If I
give it a little nudge, it runs for another 5 feet and stops, and so

Hi all - someone I know has just listed this item on eBay - I have no idea
about it but am informed it is a very rare and high value thing. Just
thought it might be helpful to let any possible collectors know about it.

Terry Flynn - Unnecessary abuse of09 Jun 2005 13:09 GMT179
I've known Terry Flynn for many years.
I value his opinions, whether I may care to differ with him or not.  Unlike
some of the "Dummies" around the place, he is an endeavourer to reaching
high standards and obviously academic in his approach to the hobby and whats
