Hornby curved points radius?21 Jul 2005 23:00 GMT14
Am I correct in thinking the inner rail is second radius and the outer rail
is third radius? I ask because the leaflet I've got from Hornby says they
are both the same radius.

How to lay cork roadbed under turnout21 Jul 2005 16:11 GMT6
Hi, can anyone give me suggestions for how to lay cork roadbed where
turnouts will go? I seem to have a very hard time getting the two
"inside pieces" to line up squarely. Is there any easy way to do this?
p.s. I'm building a switching layout right now, and have a ton of
New RVR locomotive completed at last!21 Jul 2005 07:04 GMT1
G'day all :-)
I have finally managed to complete another loco.  RVR No 3 "Auraria" is a
conversion of an Aristocraft 2-4-2T to "Australianise" it and make it blend
in with the rest of the 1:24 (nominal ;-) scale of the Rurr Valley Railway.

gave me this locomotive.  Does anyone know anything about it?  I'd be
fascinated to know something about it.
Thanks,
Hornby prices in the NRM20 Jul 2005 21:25 GMT19
This weekend I visited the NRM at York, for the first time in 30 years. It
was brilliant! I was quited shocked to find that there is no entrance fee!
Sadly, the prices of Hornby models in the NRM gift shop were exorbitant. The

Trolley Work Car Help20 Jul 2005 19:51 GMT3
I recently came by a good deal on a "G" power truck.  I'd like to make it
into a simple "outhouse of flat car" trolley work car to run with my two
Bachmann single truck cars.  I recall seeing a photo of such a car built on
an old single trucker chassis, with a single wooden mast in ...
Fleischmann Turntable20 Jul 2005 14:44 GMT1
I'm thinking of investing in a Fleischmann HO 6651C Electrically Operated
Turntable.
But I first need to check whether it will fit in the space available. As far
as I can see the length of the bridge is 310mm and I think that is also the
Hi, Todd, and all ... about living next to the yards ...20 Jul 2005 07:49 GMT3
Yeah, right ... who WOULD want to live anywhere else?
I grew up in the 40's at Laramie, Wyo, my folks were deep into the
U.P., and I was on  a "4000" (what they now call the U.P. Bog Boy)

Did BR stock ever have 3rd class written on their coaches? Mk1s?
