I am modelling a fictional shared former LMS/LNER mainline set in the
1957-63 period, with a single branchline terminus at the station.
A couple of questions please:
1. It is reasonable to assume that there were 4-track mainlines (2 fast, 2

I have a small model setup on a shelf in my living room. IM looking for
a light (most likely battery powered) that i can mount to the ceiling
or just over the model. I would like the light to be sort of ambient
(not really bright) and i would like it to turn on when it gets dark

The Austrains site has just had a quick update with photos of some of the
samples parts of the CLP and T class locos that arrived from China recently.
John is expecting to take delivery of the first complete, working T class

I have just bought 45114 from my local shop and comparing it with an old
mainline I find that there are only two sandboxes per bogie. When
checking on the web this is correct from the pictures I have seen of
45114 and other 451's. However early 45's (green) had 4 sandboxes per

Just some thoughts that ya'll might be interested in.
Ran out of sleep this am and to keep from screwing with computers I went
out of town about a ways and sat on the BNSF right-of-way at MP1330.  It
was pretty dark, no moon in sight; although the stars were pretty

Does anyone know of an on-line resource for picking DCC decoders for HO
engines? That is, I'm looking for a table of some sort that says: "For an
Atlas GP-9 or a Kato SD-45 or a Proto 2000 this or a Stewart that ....,
etc., the following decoders fit and work well: Digitrax x, ...

includes a set of 12 mini layout done in several scales: HO, EZ Track HO /
ON30, N, G / #1,  Tubular O, Tubular O27, Realtax, Atlas O, TT and Standard
Gauge.  These are small enough for the tinyest spaces. I ...

Has anyone heard if the Atlas HO scale S2 and S4 have been shipped yet?
Their web site says the 17th of September, but nothing more.
