There has been a lot of discussion about this locomotive on the MKT group.
The burgundy and red two tone paint over the silver gray with white trim
make for a nice combination. The other two fallen flag Heritage locomotives
I've seen pictures of were okay but this is the best paint ...

I am getting to the point in my layout construction where I am
thinking seriously about turnout control.  Since I am already
committed to DCC, I want to control the turnouts that way, too.
The most common stationary decoder seems to be the Digitrax DS54,

I ran out of hydrocal and still lack about two thin coats. Can I use
joint compound instead. They are both manufactured at National Gypsum.
I already have one coat of hydrocal down.

Of course there are many other more important things to consider for the
folks on the Gulf Coast right now.....but anyone in New Orleans with a
layout in the basement or even on the first or second floor has got to be

Some time ago, probably in Model RR magazine they talked about "Constant
Lighting" for locomotives or even passenger cars. Anyone know how to do it?
Is there a kit of some kind or whatever? Even the style were the lights are
one even when not moving or parked.
