I am intending to build a 5" gauge model of the NSW RTA's XPT train. I have sufficient drawings, etc to build the model's bodywork but the one thing stopping me proceeding is a lack of drawings (and casting skills) to make the wheel bogies on the power cars. According to Janes

Did Ivy City yard in DC handled freight (as freight yard) or was it just engine maintenence yard (in any period of time, but I'm interested in transition era). Also what about nearby Eckington yard?

I am working with N scall Peco turnouts with the PL10 switching motor, however no matter what I try I can not seam to get the switches to throw in one direction they seam to work ok throwing to one side but not the other. Can someone PLEASE help shed some light on this problem if ...

I have one of these and it runs very well apart from accelerating from not moving to a slow crawl in one step - there seems to be nothing between. I found a reference on the net to this, suggesting putting a resistor in series with the motor. I can see how this might work with a ...

hey! - seen the pre-pro Farish 44 ( want a blue 45 myself but same difference) and at last a good 6 wheeled tank... happy days. I can finally get my Stirling - Newhaven motorail done and the milks to Clapham. yay!

At Leeds MRS we are looking at building a model of Chapel station set 1955 to 1960. I have alot of info from Bill Hudson's book "Through Limestone HIlls". I am short of a signalling layout and any source of photos would be appreciated.

I presume that most modern day depots have sand for the locos delivered by road? If it were rail delivered today, what would bring it in? A VGA with 25KG bagged sand sound plausible, I am guessing that modern depots use allot less
