WTB: Airfix WW1 Tank07 Oct 2005 19:43 GMT36
Hi again all
I am wanting to compile a train that has a couple of heavyweight well
wagons, with WW1 Tanks as loads, basically on their way to preservation
(yes, I am still on that kick). Apparently Airfix made these Tanks in 1/72
Mikes Models07 Oct 2005 10:08 GMT9
Anyone know what happened to Mike's Models?  You know the outfit I mean -
they used to produced exquisite white metal kits of railway paraphernalia
such as water cranes, gas lamps, fire devils etc..
Not been able to find any trace of them in recent years.
Can you help06 Oct 2005 21:05 GMT3
I have an 00 gauge Triang Railways Diesels, set of two engines one with
power the other a dummy. They are in blue and yellow trim and very American
looking. The only information on the engines is made in Britain and a
running number 5007, I have done a Google with no luck.

Tie-downs06 Oct 2005 16:39 GMT7
Anyone found anything that can be used to lash down military vehicles
onto a Warwell/warflat? They use strops made of a nylon like material
with a ratchet tensioner in real life, but I've not seen a 00
equivalent.
12 volts DC?06 Oct 2005 15:16 GMT5
I've been experimenting, and I came up with some strange results
relating to loco speeds. As a result I decided to figure out what
voltage is getting to my locos. So I took a few readings with my digital
multimeter set to one of the DC voltmeter scales.
AMRA Hurstville Exhibition06 Oct 2005 13:43 GMT19
Well, I spent the day over there setting up the U Drive and helping other
set up layouts.
I hadnt been inside before this and after all the negative comments was very
surprised about how big it is. It looks (and the exhibition manager tells

I'm getting ready to flock some terrain, I was going to buy some of
those 64 oz. jars of ground foam.  Can anyone with some experience tell
me approximately how many square feet one of those 64 ounce jars will
cover?  I need to know how many to get.  I want to use mainly fine

I'm told that cutting off the mains lead here is also sufficient to consider
Lord of the Isles for restoration please.05 Oct 2005 12:19 GMT1
Hi again folks
I am wondering if anyone out there has a tired Lord of the Isles and Tender
they'd think about sending to the colonies for a reasonable price......
Also, even if someone has a lone tender, loc body or bits I'd love to hear
DCC for points05 Oct 2005 08:56 GMT16
How do I go about using DCC for points? I assume that if I have a DCC
layout I don't need to have a control panel with switches but use a
decoder for points then control these from the DCC controller via the
bus.

"Running Extra" - editor Eric Heiser
Does anyone know of this newsletter, this editor, and how I might get
in touch with him? I believe he is an ATSF modeler/enthusiast.
I have heard that they sponsor an on-line swap meet for train
