| Early Class 81/2/3/4/5/6/7 livery | 24 Oct 2005 00:00 GMT | 8 |
Seem to recall than when new these early WCML electrics were painted all over light blue with white window surrounds and (I think) white roofs. Anyone remember if that is right? Reason is I am adding some loco pics to the website to show beginners

| Athearn Locomotove | 23 Oct 2005 21:22 GMT | 8 |
Hello, all. After decades in an attic, I came across my old Athearn HO set. The locomotive (model of diesel-electric) is powered by four small rubber bands that have dry-rotted. I found replacement bands listed on the Athearn

| Help! - fitting DCC to older hornby class 47? | 23 Oct 2005 20:24 GMT | 9 |
Just started with DCC. I've fitted a couple of wired decoders successfully. But I'm stuck with an older Hornby class 47. There's only 1 pick-up wire which goes from the trailing bogie to the motor. I assume the other pick-up is through the motor bogie itself, but I can't see

| More "Trademark" issues | 23 Oct 2005 19:57 GMT | 90 |
On the CBS 6 o'clock news Tuesday nite, Sept. 27 2005, there was a special report on a Trademark battle going on in the hobby business, and the report gave the impression that the issue was already before the courts, awaiting a decision. No, it wasn't about Union Pacific's

Unfortunately, DCC stands for many things so Mr Google is not very helpful. One with lists of manufacturers, tutorials etc. would be nice. TIA Luke

| D600 Warship class | 23 Oct 2005 15:15 GMT | 13 |
As far as I know this class http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/d600m_in.htm was never produced in model form unlike the more familar D800 Warships. If I wanted to build a model D600 in OO gauge using another type as a basis, what would be a good class to start from? The D800 looks ...

| Dispatcher | 23 Oct 2005 15:05 GMT | 5 |
The next area of major interest [yet having little understanding] is the incorporation of a dispatcher. I have operated as a guest on several layouts where we wore a headset and there was a dispatcher directing our movements along the rails. I thoroughly

| Hidden Staging | 23 Oct 2005 02:28 GMT | 10 |
[a] Is hidden staging the world strictly beyond the on-line layout [only "foreign" engines originate there]? [b] Is hidden staging an extension of the on-line layout ["home" and "foreign" engines originate there]?
