Mixing Ma Digital and analog19 Oct 2005 08:20 GMT10
Back when I operated my analog Marklin gear, I managed to mostly stay
away from sectioning the track by using the catenary to feed one loco
while operating the other off of the track. It was also quite cool
because if I was only running the one electric loco, I could set the
Methfix transfers19 Oct 2005 00:44 GMT12
Have just bought some Methfix transfers, but have no idea how to use
them :-(
They are described as varnish or Methfix, whichever you prefer.  Well, I
prefer waterslide, which is all I have ever used, as supplied with
Lenz Compact L60500 and Lenz LS150 questions.18 Oct 2005 20:49 GMT9
After my previous posting "Bachmann DCC Controller 36-500" and the replies
received I have decided to go with the Lenz Compact DCC Controller. I now
have some further questions that I would appreciate some help with.
1. The best UK price I have found for the Compact is £82 with ...
Scales and gauges - again18 Oct 2005 20:24 GMT29
Following on from a previous post I'm now really confused about the
scale things are supplied in.
I'm modelling a late GWR British outline in N gauge, which is 1:148
based on Dapol and Farish rolling stock (I think we'll agree on based on
DCC - w/ the FAB18 Oct 2005 19:59 GMT2
When consisting an F-series of engines, I am curious if the B-unit is
treated identically to an A-unit.
i.e. F7 ABBA .... I assume that all four powered engines get their own DCC
decoder. Anything different?
Peco OO Turntable & DCC18 Oct 2005 19:14 GMT2
Are there any special track power arrangements for this turntable when
used with DCC or do I just use a booster with auto sensor as used for
reverse loops?

Turntable OO18 Oct 2005 18:47 GMT13
Has anyone ever built a turntable in OO rather that purchased a commercial
pre built one.
Are QR models available?18 Oct 2005 04:54 GMT7
I've noticed that pretty well every supplier of australian locos and
carriages only seem to supply nswgr/vr/anr products. I haven't seen any QR
based locos or carriages at all. Is there any reason why modelling QR
products seems to be unpopular? or is there a supplier that I ...
Bachmann DCC Controller 36-50018 Oct 2005 04:30 GMT15
After reading the reply to my earlier post "Help" I have been looking at
various DCC controllers, as money is going to be a bit tight in the
beginning due to all I have to purchase (track, points, point motors, etc) I
thought this was a reasonably priced starter DCC controller, ...

R871 Hornby Coronation?17 Oct 2005 17:51 GMT29
Could folks please let me know what boxes these came in? I have just bought
one and the seller stated it has its plastic inset and lower box, but it
probably never came with a plastic upper - rather it would've had a
cardboard outer? I am wondering if this is likely and if so, ...
Dapol suburbans query17 Oct 2005 15:53 GMT1
I've just bought a pair of Dapol suburban coach body bare shells for peanuts
on eBay, as new surplus stock (ModelTrains4U: highly recommended trader). I
blithely assumed that they were either a GW design or the BR Mk1
non-corridors.
Help17 Oct 2005 13:56 GMT5
I want to set up a OO layout in my loft, I am thinking of basing it loosly
on Kingsbridge (Devon) on a large baseboard at one end of the loft, but with
a through single mainline that I will run around the loft on a 10" width
board.
