Manual versus Automatic Turnouts30 Nov 2005 18:32 GMT28
How do you feel about using manual versus automatic turnouts?  I know
some people feel like they're part of the railroad if they actually
have to get down and throw the manual switch.
Myself, I definitely prefer the automatic ones, but I absolutely hate

heljan 47 + lights+sound chip+ ?30 Nov 2005 14:18 GMT5
Anyone fitted an express lighting DCC light kit to a sound chipped class 47?
What wires from the lighting kit attach to where on the decoder? Is it
colour co-ordinated as the express lighting instructions do not tie up with
the sound chip programming, I think!
bachmann 5730 Nov 2005 13:43 GMT20
Bachmann 57 are out, shall be returning with a freightliner and possibly the
Virgin one in just over an hour all being well. My supplier tells me he
thinks the Virgin one has the deliner? (funny coupling thing!) as a separate
item the box.
Very non-politically-correct Chrstmas story30 Nov 2005 12:41 GMT1
Just to take people's minds off trying to decide which N gauge class 66
to convert to DCC, or whether you want to convert your layout from EM to
P4 in time for the next exhibition, try this one for size:
There's this bird called Mary, yeah?
HO silver city comet models30 Nov 2005 04:04 GMT11
I am after the manufacturer details for the person/co that produced the
HO scale model "Silver city comet sets".
Any details will be appreciated.

Dust Removal30 Nov 2005 03:03 GMT15
Can you please suggest a reliable and safe method of removing dust from an
HO scale train car. My display models need a dusting. I was curious if
anyone has used those cans of compressed air that people use to clean out
their computer keyboards. If so, where do you buy that can?
Bachmann Mk1 Pullmans29 Nov 2005 23:41 GMT3
The first of the totally new Bachmann Mk 1 Pullman coaches arrived today in
classic umber & cream livery and pretty impressive it looks too.  Car No 347
is a Parlour Second of early 1960s vintage, and appropriate for both steam
and diesel haulage.
Why Do You Railroad?29 Nov 2005 23:28 GMT14
I was curious why you are involved in model railroading?
I know some people worked on actual railroads and have tried to model
it.
Some people like to model railroads they grew up around.
RailKing Proto-Sound Charger?29 Nov 2005 22:21 GMT7
I have an odd question, but maybe someone will know.  Santa brought my son a
RailKing Daylight Limited Set with Proto-Sound 2 about 2 years ago.  We
haven't used the set in about 6 months and I want to charge the battery.  I
bought an AC Charger for it, but didn't label it.  I ...
Make of Pullman Coach29 Nov 2005 20:39 GMT6
I have has one of the blue Pullman "Golden Arrow" coaches sitting around
in a cupboard for years and now I think  Ebay might be a better place
for it.
Now it does not seem to have any makers brands or marks in a visible spot.
N-Scale Restoration - 1970's29 Nov 2005 20:18 GMT1
I am trying to restore for sale a 36" x 66" N-scale system which I
constructed for my then young son in ~ 1972. Most of the purchased
components are Atlas
There are 3 engines, a Bachmann 4-8-4 Northern, a Atlas/Roco EMD GP9,
Help understanding DCC29 Nov 2005 19:38 GMT19
Hi again,
I have some general questions about DCC:  Do DCC-equipped trains work
on non-DCC layouts?  I would anticipate that they work just like a
regular style train, but I'm not sure.  Likewise, will non-DCC trains
Laying Parrallel Tracks29 Nov 2005 18:50 GMT25
Good Afternoon All.
I wonder if someone can help me; and I know this is a particularly
simple question, but to lay parallel tracks, and to keep the spacing
between them fixed through a bend, should I use a larger radius (say
Wheel wipers redux; tape player motors ; KF transformers29 Nov 2005 15:04 GMT16
Dear folks:
Well, I asked a question about wheel wipers and got a lot of answers,
so I went to inspect one of the worst electrical offenders on the
roster,
